Here are the details for matchweek 5 of ISL 2024-25 with the latest match report coming first.

Mohammedan SC 1 - 2 Kerala Blasters

(Mirjalol Kasimov 29' - Kwame Peprah 67', Jesus Jimenez 75')

Kerala Blasters climbed to fifth in the table, thanks to a second half comeback away to Mohammedan SC, notching up a 2-1 win.

Mohammedan took the lead in the 28th minute, earning a penalty after Blaster's debutant keeper Som Kumar fouled France in the box. Mirjalol Kasimov stepped up and sent the keeper the wrong way, scoring his first ISL goal in the process. The Blasters came close a few minutes later, with Jimenez hitting the crossbar after a superb solo run - as the hosts had a 1-0 lead going into the break.

Kwame Peprah produced an instant impact shortly after he came on, scoring in the 67th minute to draw the Blasters level. Adrian Luna's overhit cross from the right found Noah Sadaoui, and he flashed a low cross into the box, where Peprah ghosted past a static Mohammedan defence to tap in from close range. Jesus Jimenez completed the Blasters comeback soon after, glancing a header at the near post into the net, after a superb cross from Naocha Singh from the left to make it 2-1 to the visitors in the 75th minute.

There was crowd trouble late on leading to a pause in proceedings, but the game resumed as the Blasters held on for the win, with Som Kumar making a superb 1-on-1 save in injury time.

East Bengal 0 - 2 Mohun Bagan

(Jamie Maclaren 41', Dimi Petratos 89' (P))

In the league season's first boro match, Mohun Bagan came up trumps with a rather straightforward 2-0 win over East Bengal. EB held their own for the vast majority of the first half, but Jamie Maclaren's cleverly taken goal (off a neat Manvir Singh ball) saw Bagan took a lead they never looked in any real danger of losing. Dimi Petratos then drew, and scored, a penalty to put the seal on the three points, but the stats bear out how routine a win this was for Bagan. EB had five shots on goal (1 on target) vs Bagan's 21 (7), created 0 big chances to Bagan's 4, made 255 passes to Bagan's 363, had just 42% of the possession and created an xG of 0.28 vs Bagan's 2.69 (even accounting for the inflation thanks to the penalty, that's a huge gap)

Bagan have now made-up ground after a slow start to the season and with two derby wins in two, they are second three points behind Bengaluru FC. The size of the task facing new EB boss Oscar Bruzon, meanwhile, was laid clear as his side languishes at the bottom with five losses in five.

FC Goa 1 - 2 Mumbai

(Armando Sadiku 55' (P); Nikolas Karelis 21', Yoell van Nieff 40')

The brief respite that Manolo Marquez got with his side's win against East Bengal ended when Mumbai City arrived and took three points at the Fatorda to give themselves a boost and their first win of the campaign.

Although evenly matched for most of the match, Mumbai's firepower in front of goal saw them take the win - Nikolas Karelis opening the scoring with a strong header off a delicious Yoell van Nieff delivery and van Nieff himself scoring with a belter from range after a quick turnover in the Goa half.

Armando Sadiku brought Goa back into the game by winning, and scoring, a penalty but they couldn't trouble Phurba Lachenpa overtly after that. Despite winning 9 corners (to 3) and dominating possession (58%), Marquez's men lacked the penetration to change the result.

The result sees Mumbai and Goa swap places (although they are both level on five points, Goa's GD is -1) and could be the platform that the defending ISL champs need to kickstart what's been a lacklustre campaign so far.

Bengaluru FC 1-0 Punjab FC

(Naorem Roshan Singh 43')

Bengaluru FC made it five games without conceding a goal in this season's ISL, as they consolidated their position on top of the table with a 1-0 win over Punjab FC at the Sree Kanteerava Stadium, despite playing more than 30 minutes with ten men, following Chinglensana Singh's red card.

Naorem Roshan Singh scored the only goal of the game, with a superb strike on the volley from inside the penalty area. After Sana's red card, though, there was only one team in the contest, as Bengaluru dropped deep in defence, and Punjab kept probing. However, they couldn't find a way past the brilliant Rahul Bheke and Aleksandar Jovanovic, apart from one moment when Mushaga Bakenga clattered the crossbar from close range.

Bengaluru now have 13 points from five games, and have affirmed their status as the early pace-setters in this season's ISL.

NorthEast United 2-3 Chennaiyin FC

(Nestor Albiach 5', Alaeddine Ajaraie (P) 89' - Wilmar Jordan Gil 25', 51', Lukas Brambilla (P) 36')

Chennaiyin FC produced a superb comeback to grab an impressive win away to NorthEast United, notching up a 3-2 victory. Owen Coyle's men leapfrogged NEUFC in the table, climbing to fourth place, while the hosts fell to eighth in the table.

NorthEast opened the scoring early, winning the ball back deep in their own half before proceeding swiftly up the pitch. Nestor Albiach spread the ball wide to Jithin MS, who sent a clever pass to Parthib making a run into the right channel. The Indian forward did well to curl a low cross past multiple defenders, allowing Nestor to tap the ball home. NEUFC were firmly in control, and Ajaraei spurned a great chance to make it 2-0 a few minutes later. They were made to pay in the 25th minute, when Wilmar Jordan Gil rose high and headed in a corner from Connor Shields.

Chennaiyin completed the comeback 10 minutes later when Michel Zabaco dragged down Ryan Edwards in the box and conceded a penalty. Lukas Brambilla made no mistake from the spot, drilling the ball into the top left corner to give the visitors the lead in the 36th minute - which they retained going into the break.

Owen Coyle's men then scored from another corner in the second half, although NEUFC cleared the first phase, only to lose the ball, allowing CFC to loft it back into the box, where Jordan Gil beat the offside trap, controlled the ball and volleyed it home to make it 3-1 in the 51st minute. Chennaiyin FC held on as the half progressed, but Laldinliana Renthlei's second yellow card in the 84th minute complicated matters as they went down to ten men.

Irfan Yadwad then made a clumsy foul in the box on Alaeddine Ajaraie in the 88th minute, conceding a penalty and handing the hosts a lifeline. Ajaraie sent CFC keeper Samik Mitra the wrong way and scored for the fifth consecutive game, one short of the ISL record held by Elano. NEUFC threw the kitchen sink at CFC in injury time, but the visitors held on for the win.
