Tottenham sign Dejan Kulusevski, Rodrigo Bentancur from Juventus in double deal

Tottenham Hotspur have completed a double deal for winger Dejan Kulusevski and midfielder Rodrigo Bentancur from Juventus, both clubs announced on Monday.

The deal for Bentancur is worth €19 million over three yearly instalments, with a further €6m in add-ons, sources have told ESPN, while Kulusevski arrives on an 18-month loan deal with a €35m option for a permanent move.

The club said both players are now subject to "international clearance and a work permit" before joining up with their new teammates.

Sources previously told ESPN that Spurs were interested in Kulusevski after missing out on Luis Diaz, who joined Liverpool from Porto on Sunday. The club were also interested in Adama Traore, who signed on loan at Barcelona from Wolverhampton Wanderers on Saturday.

Spurs boss Antonio Conte was adamant his squad needed a significant overhaul this month, sources told ESPN, with Kulusevski and Juventus teammate Bentancur arriving as reinforcements as the side aim for Champions League qualification this season.

Kulusevski had scored two goals in 27 games in all competitions for Juventus this season, while Bentancur made 26 appearances this season, registering three assists.

Kulusevski started his senior career with Atalanta in 2018 where he made three appearances. He was loaned to Parma where he made 17 appearances. He then made the switch to Juventus in 2020 but returned to Parma on loan for a brief period.

He made his senior Sweden debut in November 2019 after playing with the youth side.

Bentancur made his senior debut for Boca Juniors in 2015 after spending six years with their junior side. He joined Juventus in 2017, making 133 appearances across all competitions during his time with the Serie A side.

He received his first senior call up to the Uruguay national side in September 2017 and made his debut that October during the 2018 World Cup qualifiers.
