The summer transfer window was unlike any other. See all the major deals and check out how we graded the biggest signings. And just because the window is shut until January, that doesn't mean the rumours won't keep coming. Here's the latest gossip and speculation.
TOP STORY: Clubs circling Chelsea defender Christensen
Tottenham Hotspur are the latest club in a list of names showing an interest in signing Chelsea centre-back Andreas Christensen, according to the Daily Star.
The Denmark international's contract runs out in the summer of 2022, and the fact that he has yet to sign an extension has attracted the attention of many clubs within England and abroad.
New manager Antonio Conte has identified strengthening Spurs' spine as an absolute priority, and it seems the 25-year-old is the man he wants to do that -- which will be helped by his status as a free agent if he can't come to an agreement with Chelsea.
Manchester United and Manchester City are also both monitoring how things develop, particularly in January. When the new year comes, interested clubs abroad such as AC Milan and Barcelona will be able to negotiate with Christensen, possibly giving them an advantage.
However, it is far from a certainty that Christensen will leave Chelsea at all, with Thomas Tuchel continuing to see him as a key part of the Blues' squad.

21.08 GMT: Jean Mota has signed for Inter Miami FC from Santos in a two-year contract, the clubs have confirmed.
The midfielder has spent his entire career in Brazil, including a nearly decade in the top flight. He made his debut in 2012 with Portuguesa.
"It's a pleasure to be a part of Inter Miami, a great club with a fantastic fan base and great facilities," Mota said. "I'm excited to give my best on the pitch and create great memories together with the club.
"I'm proud to wear this jersey and look forward to leaving everything on the field to defend it. Lastly, I want to thank the fans for their reception and I'm thrilled to be here as we aim to accomplish our objectives together."
20.12 GMT: The New York Red Bulls have given Inter Miami CF $1.2m in General Allocation Money in a trade for winger Lewis Morgan.
As part of the deal, Inter Miami will receive $700,000 in 2022 and $500,000 in 2023. They will also retain a percentage of any future transfers of Morgan.
"Thanks to all the fans for everything and the great support they have given me over the last two years. I've loved my time with Inter Miami. I feel a great connection with the club and I hope we can maintain that in the future," Morgan said.
"It's sad that I can't be part of the journey going forward but it's for the good of the club. It was important that someone had to go, and if it benefits the club and benefits myself."
Morgan joined Inter Miami from Celtic in January 2020 and started every match for the MLS club throughout its first two seasons.
19.09 GMT: The New England Revolution have confirmed that forward Teal Bunbury has been traded to Nashville FC in exchange for up to $150,000 in General Allocation Money.
New England will receive £75,000 straight away from the trade while they will earn an additional $75,000 if Bunbury meets performance-based metrics.
Bunbury is the fourth-leading top scorer in Revolution history with 45 regular season goals and 21 assists over 231 appearances since 2014. He scored three goals over 29 appearances this season.
He also won the 2020 Golden Boot.
18.04 GMT: Sources have told ESPN's Jeff Carlisle and Kyle Bonagura- that LAFC are in the final stages of neogtiating a deal that will see midfielder Eduard Atuesta transferred to Brazilian Serie A side Palmeiras.
The initial transfer fee is expected to be around $4 million with incentives which could lead to the deal being worth around £7m.
Atuesta has been a mainstay in LAFC's midfield since arriving on loan from Independiente Medellin ahead of the 2018 season.
17.00 GMT: ICYMI -- As part of the club's efforts to strengthen the left-back position, sources told ESPN that Manchester City have watched Arsenal defender Nuno Tavares, who has impressed in his first season at the Emirates Stadium.
The Portugal under-21 international has emerged as a contender for Kieran Tierney's place since his £8m move to Arsenal from Benfica last summer, and while sources added City are unlikely to make a move in January, the 21-year-old remains a player of interest.
City have one recognised senior left-back at the club in Oleksandr Zinchenko, although former Juventus defender Joao Cancelo has performed that role with distinction in recent months. France international Benjamin Mendy has been suspended by the club.
16.07 BST: FC Salzburg's Karim Adeyemi scored his first hat trick in the Austrian Bundesliga against WSG Tirol this weekend.
Adeyemi, 19, has been linked with a €40m move to Borussia Dortmund, Bayern Munich, Liverpool, Barcelona, PSG and a host of other top European clubs. But the Germany international wasn't giving much away when asked about his future after the game.
"As is so often the case, nothing is decided yet and, as I have said, I'll also be at Salzburg next year, and that's where my focus is on," Adeyemi told Sky. "As I have said, I have no tendency. My mind is here at Salzburg and I'm looking forward to the Champions League with Salzburg. We want to give our all there."
15.25 GMT: ICYMI - Ralf Rangnick identified Manchester United's midfield as an area of weakness in his interview with club bosses and suggested players of interest before being offered the job as interim manager, sources told ESPN.
Rangnick impressed during discussions with football director John Murtough, technical director Darren Fletcher and executive vice-chairman Ed Woodward as United searched for a temporary boss to take over following the dismissal of Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.
Sources told ESPN that he explained why the club should look to invest in midfield and suggested scouts take a closer look at RB Leipzig's Amadou Haidara, also identifying Borussia Dortmund's Jude Bellingham and Leeds United's Kalvin Phillips as potential midfield targets.
Meanwhile, Bellingham's Dortmund teammate Erling Haaland, a long term United target, was also mentioned by Rangnick ahead of what is likely to be a Europe-wide battle for the player's signature in the summer.
14.10 GMT: Things could have been very different for Barcelona star Pedri if he had signed for Real Madrid after a trial while at Tenerife-based CF Juventud Laguna.
"When I was 15 years old they [Real Madrid] called me for a trial, but that day there was huge snowfall and it had to be postponed," the Spain international and Kopa Trophy winner told Tuttosport. "The next day, I took part in some light training with the academy side. Maybe they already had their idea about me, so I went back to Tenerife. However, I would not have rejected Madrid.
"Opportunities must be seized, however they come. Let's just say something happened, a combination of negative circumstances, and they were the ones that didn't want to sign me."
13.30 GMT: Chelsea's defence wasn't at its best in the 3-2 win over Leeds.
12.50 GMT: Bayern Munich winger Kingsley Coman is stalling over a new contract and Bild reports that Barcelona's Ousmane Dembele is being considered as his replacement.
Coman, 25, has another two years left on his contract but seemingly wants a big payrise which Bayern are not willing to offer.
With Dembele available on a free transfer in the summer of 2022, Bayern could let Coman depart for a fee and then sign the 24-year-old Dembele for nothing.
12.22 GMT: Torino defender Gleison Bremer is on Chelsea's radar, according to The Sun.
Bremer, 24, has impressed in Serie A since arriving for €6m from Atletico Mineiro in 2018 and Torino could be open to an offer when the transfer window opens, with Tottenham, West Ham and Liverpool previously showing interest.
Chelsea's defence will need a revamp as Antonio Rudiger, Andreas Christensen, Thiago Silva and Cesar Azpilicueta are all out of contract in the summer and the Blues have been linked with plenty of players.
11.54 GMT: Fabrizio Romano reports that Real Madrid have no plans to offload Brazilian forward Rodrygo in January.
Rodrygo, 20, has two goals and three assists in 19 games in all competitions this season, but has been outshone by the form of his international teammate Vinicius Jr.
Liverpool have been linked with Rodrygo but Real Madrid are ready to open new contract talks over an extension.
11.25 GMT: Pogon Szczecin midfielder Kacper Kozlowski has reportedly been scouted by Manchester City, Liverpool and AC Milan but Brighton are set to beat them all to his signature.
Kozlowski, 18, is highly rated but The Daily Mail says that the south coast club are ready to do a deal for £8m for the Poland international before any of their rivals get involved.
The report states that Brighton would loan Kozlowski out quickly to gain more experience.
10.47 GMT: Newcastle are keen on Manchester United midfielder Jesse Lingard. says The Sun.
Lingard, 28, hasn't been given the chance to shine at Old Trafford after a great spell on loan at West Ham last season. And new Newcastle boss Eddie Howe thinks the England international could be the perfect player to get his club out of the relegation battle.
10.05 GMT: Manchester United could be looking for a new striker if Edinson Cavani joins Barcelona.
Cavani, 34, is not playing as much as he would like at Old Trafford and sources have told ESPN he is open to a move to Barca next month.
Sources explained that contact has increased in recent days, with the Uruguay international requesting an 18-month deal with one eye on the World Cup in Qatar next winter. Barca, though, would also need to reach an agreement with United as Cavani has a contract until the end of the season in Manchester.
United are searching for a replacement in the meantime, says The Daily Mail, with Borussia Dortmund's Erling Haaland, Atletico Madrid's Joao Felix, Chelsea forward Timo Werner and Real Sociedad's Alexander Isak all on the shortlist.
09.32 GMT: ICYMI - Anthony Martial wants to leave Manchester United in January, according to his agent.
Martial has been hampered by injuries so far this season but has not started a Premier League game since the 1-1 draw with Everton on Oct. 2. He is yet to feature for interim coach Ralf Rangnick because of a knee problem and the France striker's agent, Philippe Lamboley, said the 26-year-old wants to move next month after just four starts in all competitions since August.
"Anthony wishes to leave the club in January," Lamboley told Sky Sports. "He just needs to play. He doesn't want to stay in January and I will speak to the club soon."
09.00 GMT: Forward Antoine Griezmann has told ESPN he struggled to adapt to life back at Atletico Madrid after rejoining the LaLiga champions from Barcelona last summer.
Griezmann, 30, spent five years at Atletico -- becoming the fourth highest goal scorer in the club's history -- before a controversial move to Barcelona in 2019.
After two up-and-down seasons at Camp Nou he returned to the Wanda Metropolitano in August on a season-long loan, with Atletico having the obligation to make the deal permanent next summer.
The France international starred this week in Atletico's dramatic 3-1 win away at FC Porto to secure qualification for the Champions League round of 16, but both he and the team have been inconsistent this season. Atletico go into Sunday's derby with Real Madrid 10 points behind their city rivals in the LaLiga table.
"To be honest it was quite hard for me at first," Griezmann told ESPN. "It was a rhythm I wasn't used to, a new system for me. I had to take that and mix it with my own style of play. "Finally I'm getting better, and I'm feeling better on the pitch. To get to the next round of the Champions League was very important for me."

- AC Milan are keen to use their positive relationship with Real Madrid in order to sign striker Luka Jovic, as has been reported by Calciomercato, though they could look to make it happen next summer. There are other targets, such as River Plate's Julian Alvarez and Penarol's Agustin Alvarez, while Arsenal's Alexandre Lacazette is being considered with his contract ending in the summer, though the Frenchman's high salary could stop any potential deal.
- Mauro Icardi's wife and agent, Wanda Nara, has met with Juventus ahead of a possible move from Paris Saint-Germain, as has been reported by Foot Mercato. While Juventus are keen on a loan deal in the transfer window, Nara is also holding discussions with other clubs -- especially from Serie A -- with a return to Italy seemingly being the main goal.
- Hugo Lloris has opened talks with Tottenham Hotspur regarding a contract extension and is keen to stay in North London, according to Football Insider. The France international's current deal comes to an end in the summer of 2022, which has sparked some questions around the goalkeeper's future, but he feels settled at Spurs.
- West Ham United are interested in Liverpool centre-back Nat Phillips, but the Reds are only willing to let him depart on a permanent basis, reports the Sun. They won't consider a loan deal at all, with it being suggested that any deal could reach around £10m. The Hammers are looking for reinforcements at the back following injuries to Angelo Ogbonna and Kurt Zouma, though somebody such as Burnley's James Tarkowski is deemed too expensive.
- Newcastle United manager Eddie Howe is hoping to be reunited with AFC Bournemouth centre-back Steve Cook, according to the Sun. The Magpies boss is hoping to bring in players who have Premier League experience, and he will know exactly what to expect from the Cherries captain.
- Rennes are hoping to sign AS Nancy midfielder Warren Bondo despite facing competition for his signature from across Europe, reports Le10 Sport. AC Milan are said to be very keen on signing the 18-year-old, while Bayern Munich are making an effort to bring him in. Outside of that, Paris Saint-Germain, Manchester United and Internazionale have all been monitoring him.
