Kylian Mbappé was an unused substitute in Real Madrid's 2-1 home loss to Manchester City in the Champions League on Wednesday, amid fitness concerns over the star forward.
Mbappé, who has scored 25 goals for Madrid this season, was left out of Madrid's starting lineup and stayed on the bench throughout the 90 minutes.

The forward was among those complaining from the Madrid bench when City scored a first-half equaliser. Mbappé talked to the fourth official, pointing to a possible foul on Madrid defender Antonio Rüdiger during the corner-kick into the area.
Mbappé did not train with his teammates in Madrid's session at Valdebebas on Tuesday after suffering a muscular problem, and the club had delayed the announcement of the squad to face City, pending medical tests.
A source had told ESPN that Mbappé had been pushing to be involved, but would not be 100% fit for the game.
"We still don't know if he'll make it for Sunday [away at Alaves], but today he wasn't able to play," Madrid coach Xabi Alonso told a news conference after. "We had enough chances to score the second goal."
In his place, Gonzalo García led the attack for Madrid, alongside Vinícius Júnior and Rodrygo.
Rodrygo scored the opening goal at the Bernabeu before Nico O'Reilly and Erling Haaland struck late in the first half to deliver City the win.
The result puts more pressure on Alonso, whose position has come under scrutiny after a run of one win in five games in LaLiga, including Sunday's 2-0 home defeat to Celta Vigo.
ESPN has reported that Madrid president Florentino Pérez met with club executives to discuss Alonso's future after the Celta loss.
Mbappé scored four goals in Madrid's last Champions League outing, a 4-3 win at Olympiacos, as well as a hat trick against Kairat Almaty and two goals against Olympique Marseille, although he failed to score in games with Juventus and Liverpool.
Madrid were without seven other first-team players for the City game, including Dean Huijsen and Eduardo Camavinga, who were not included in the squad.
Éder Militão, David Alaba, Ferland Mendy, Dani Carvajal and Trent Alexander-Arnold were also missing for the clash.
