Euro 2024: Scotland's Kieran Tierney returns home after injury

Scotland full-back Kieran Tierney's participation at the European Championship has come to a premature end with the team confirming on Friday he will return home after sustaining an injury.

Tierney injured his hamstring in Scotland's 1-1 draw with Switzerland on Wednesday. The Arsenal defender was involved in a tussle with Dan Ndoye at the hour-mark and immediately signalled to the dugout for assistance before he was taken off the pitch on a stretcher.

"Kieran leaves camp due to injury and will return to Arsenal for further assessment," Scotland said in a statement.

Scotland are third in Group A, three points behind the second-placed Swiss. They play bottom side Hungary in their final group game on Sunday.
