Manchester United defender Maya Le Tissier has been called up to the England squad for the first time alongside Brighton forward Katie Robinson ahead of November friendlies against Japan and Norway.

Head coach Sabrina Wiegman named her 25-player squad on Tuesday ahead of their final two matches of 2022, rounding off a year in which they ended their wait for a major trophy in lifting Euro 2022.

Alessia Russo returns after missing last month's wins over the United States and Czech Republic, although captain Leah Williamson remains absent with a foot injury.

England face Japan on Nov. 11 at the Pinatar Arena football centre in Murcia, Spain before playing Norway on Nov. 15.

"We have about eight months to prepare for the World Cup and what we want to see is where the young players are now," Wiegman said.

"This is an opportunity for them to show what they can do in our squad and hopefully they can compete really quickly and that gives us the headaches to make decisions."
