The UEFA Champions League returned to the centre-stage once more, as the second leg of the quarterfinals decided which four teams would continue to have a shot at the title.

Manchester City drew with Bayern Munich but advanced on a healthy 4-1 aggregate score, while Inter Milan made it to their third UCL semifinal with a 5-3 aggregate win over Benfica.

AC Milan set up a mouth-watering last-four clash with Inter after edging past Napoli and Real Madrid blanked Chelsea 2-0 to progress to the semifinal for the third successive season.
