Jimenez crowned champion in Portugal as Fabian, Frankfurt run out of steam

Raul Jimenez once again found the back of the net for Benfica, Eintracht Frankfurt's recent problems continued and Hector Herrera stood out for Porto.

Here's a look back at the Heroes and Villains from the Mexicans in Europe.

Heroes

One week after scoring the winner for Benfica, Raul Jimenez struck again for his club during Saturday's 5-0 victory over Guimaraes. Thanks to the three points earned, Benfica were crowned as champions of the Primeira Liga for the fourth consecutive season. Since joining the club in 2015, Jimenez has won two league titles, one Portuguese League Cup and one Portuguese Super Cup.

Although the race for Portugal's league title is now over for Porto, the Dragaos have at least secured a place in next season's Champions League group stage. Thanks to a 4-1 victory against Pacos de Ferreira and Sporting Lisbon dropping points, Porto have guaranteed themselves a spot in second place of the league table.

On the pitch, captain Hector Herrera was vital with his goal in the win. Alongside him in the starting XI, Jesus Corona played only in the first half but excelled with an assist on Herrera's goal. Unfortunately for Miguel Layun, the defender was once again left off the gameday roster.

Hector Moreno and Andres Guardado helped close out the Eredivisie season for PSV Eindhoven with a dominant 4-1 win over PEC Zwolle. While Moreno provided a goal for PSV in the 78th minute, Guardado helped control the midfield with his distribution. Despite the fact that PSV finished the tournament with a 10-game undefeated streak, it wasn't enough to finish in a Champions League-worthy position. Now, the big question is if Moreno or Guardado will stick around with the third-placed team or look for moves elsewhere in the summer.

Jonathan dos Santos emerged with a strong performance for Villarreal on Sunday. Although his club couldn't find a winner in the 0-0 draw with Deportivo La Coruna, the 27-year-old was impressive with his near-perfect passing and tackles in the midfield. With one game left in the season and a tenuous hold on a Europa League spot, Dos Santos and Villarreal will need to be at their best in the upcoming match against Valencia.

Speaking of the race for the top six in Spain, we also need to quickly mention Carlos Vela and Real Sociedad. Vela wasn't able to finish with a goal or assist, but he did provide several dangerous moments in the 2-2 draw against Malaga. With the point in hand, Sociedad still have a decent chance of stealing a Europa League spot at fifth or sixth place.

Despite taking part in a narrow defeat, Diego Reyes continued to showcase his defensive reliability for Espanyol in the 1-0 loss to Valencia. During Saturday's match, the 24-year-old was superb with his clearances and distribution going forward. Reyes has quietly done very well for Espanyol and it comes as no surprise that the club is currently seeking to keep the central defender after his loan ends this summer.

Villains

Eintracht Frankfurt have completely run out of energy. In their past 14 league matches, they have only collected one victory. On Saturday, after taking an early 2-0 lead over Mainz, Frankfurt later stumbled to a 4-2 away loss -- their third in a row. As for midfielder Marco Fabian, the 27-year-old has also started to look more quiet after a thrilling April. All that said, Die Adler still have a DFB Pokal Cup final to look forward to in late May.

Things aren't going to get any easier for Granada. After earning a relegated spot in La Liga, Granada extended their losing streak to seven games with a 2-1 loss to Osasuna over the weekend. As per usual, things were difficult in net for goalkeeper Guillermo Ochoa, who finished with five saves. According to stats from Opta, Ochoa is the keeper with the most saves and most goals conceded in the top five European leagues. It can't be overstated how difficult this tournament has been for the 31-year-old.
