Mauro Zarate is eager to leave West Ham after being played out of position by manager Sam Allardyce and could be available at a "bargain" price, his agent has said.
Zarate, 27, joined the Hammers from Velez Sarsfield in the summer as Allardyce looked to adopt a more attacking approach, but agent Luis Ruzzi said the Argentine, who has started only four games this season, is unhappy with his role.
"At West Ham he plays behind the strikers and that is not his position," he told Tuttomercatoweb in quotes translated by Football Italia. "He is a centre-forward and if there is a team willing to let him play in his natural role, then we'd be very happy to take their offer into consideration."
Zarate, who signed a three-year contract at Upton Park, has previously played for Lazio and Inter Milan and could make a return to Serie A with Torino.
Ruzzi confirmed Torino's interest is real and added: "Not just them, as several other Italian clubs also enquired about him.
"Mauro is 27, so he's ready for the big step up. After all, we know his quality. It's a shame that, apart from his time at Velez, in recent years they make him play out of position."
In a separate interview with Calcio Mercato, Ruzzi added that there had been "contact with Torino, but also other Italian clubs, sides in Spain and England."
He added: "'Maurito' is often used out of position by the current coach and this is pushing him to seriously consider changing his club. He is a striker, a hitman, not a trequartista. It's true he has a contract until 2017 with the Hammers, but I think we can find a solution to suit everyone.
"At this moment you could get Zarate for a much lower price than he is really worth. Anyone who decides to go for him will certainly be getting a bargain."
