TRENDING RUMORS
- Liverpool are considering fast-tracking a €30m move for Ajax defender Jorrel Hato in the January transfer window, according to TEAMtalk. The Reds were looking to make a move for Hato in the summer, as he can play left-back or centre-back and is highly rated, but could be forced into action as a result of interest from Arsenal, Real Madrid and Chelsea. Liverpool are already sweating on the futures of both Virgil van Dijk and Trent Alexander-Arnold, and Hato's contract expires in 2028. Meanwhile, the club could reportedly hijack Napoli's pursuit of Borussia Dortmund forward Karim Adeyemi, 23, who is available for around €40m according to Corriere dello Sport.
- Chelsea have made Bournemouth's in-form defensive star Dean Huijsen their top target in the January transfer window, according to The Sun. The 19-year-old central defender has been in fine form for the Cherries since his move from Juventus last summer, forming part of a teenage central pairing alongside Illia Zabarnyi that has conceded just nine goals in the last 11 games. The Dutch-born Spain U21 international has also scored two goals in his 17 appearances so far this season.
- Manchester United will increase their offer to sign Lecce full-back Patrick Dorgu to €38m in an effort to get the deal over the line this week, according to Nicolo Schira. Lecce are asking for €40m to land the 20-year-old, and have so far rebuffed United's bids of up to €34m. However, United are hopeful their increased bid will secure the switch, and they already have an agreement in principle for a five-year deal. Lecce are already reported to have found a replacement for Dorgu in Danilo Veiga from Portuguese club Estrela Amadora.
- Arsenal are hoping to beat Manchester City and a host of other Premier League clubs to the signing of Rosenborg attacking midfielder Sverre Nypan, according to TalkSPORT. ESPN reported last week that the 18-year-old has become one of the most sought-after teenagers in European football, and he was spotted at the Etihad Stadium on Saturday watching City's victory over Chelsea. Though he shares the same agent as City striker Erling Haaland, Arsenal are believed to be frontrunners for his signature but Girona, Aston Villa and Brighton & Hove Albion are also interested in the Norway U21 international.
- AC Milan are set to make an improved €34m offer to sign Feyenoord striker Santiago Giménez, says Calciomercato, although the Dutch club want €40m for the Mexico international's transfer. Gimenez, 23, has scored 15 goals in 18 games so far this season and has been linked with a host of clubs around Europe this month.

EXPERT TAKE
ESPN correspondent Beth Lindop on Liverpool's interest in Jorrel Hato.
It's no secret that Liverpool need another defender. Following Joel Matip's departure last summer, it was a surprise to see the Anfield club refrain from bolstering their back line in the transfer market, though the emergence of academy prospect Jarell Quansah did provide some mitigation for their conservatism.
However, injuries to both Ibrahima Konate and Joe Gomez over the past couple of months have reinforced Liverpool's need to strengthen, while Andy Robertson's noticeable dip in form has highlighted the importance of bringing in a new left-back.
While Arne Slot's side had been expected to wait until the summer to address their defence, the club's buzzword in the transfer market is "opportunistic" and, if Hato should become available this month, moving for him would make a lot of sense.
Crucially, the 18-year-old is versatile, and could provide useful cover in multiple positions. He certainly ticks a lot of boxes in terms of Liverpool's traditional transfer strategy; chiefly that he is young but already has a considerable amount of senior and international experience.
Considering how highly he is rated, he could prove a shrewd addition to Slot's side.
Julien Laurens believes that Christopher Nkunku should leave Chelsea due to his lack of game time.
