Barcelona's Sergio Busquets fit for Champions League tie vs. Roma

Sergio Busquets returned to Barcelona training on Monday and is expected to be ready to face Roma in the Champions League this week.

Busquets was initially ruled out for three weeks after breaking a bone in his foot in the win over Chelsea on March 14.

The midfielder missed games for his club against Athletic Bilbao and Sevilla and was also unable to join up with the Spain squad for matches against Germany and Argentina.

He was rated as touch-and-go for Roma's visit to Camp Nou on Wednesday but made good progress during the recent international break and is now back in full training.

Ivan Rakitic has covered well for Busquets while he's been out but coach Ernesto Valverde is likely to bring him straight back into the team.

Lionel Messi is also set to start after coming on as a substitute against Sevilla on Saturday and scoring an 89th-minute equaliser to extend Barca's unbeaten run to 37 league games.

Messi missed two Argentina friendlies with a hamstring injury but played through the pain against Sevilla.

Along with Busquets, he trained with his teammates on Monday after showing no ill-effects from his match-saving cameo in Seville.

Lucas Digne, therefore, is the only player definitely missing for this week's quarterfinal first leg against Roma at Camp Nou.

A number of Barca B players were also involved in Monday's session, including Carles Alena, Jorge Cuenca and former Montreal Impact forward Ballou Tabla.
