Arsenal kicked off their Premier League season with a 2-0 home defeat against reigning champions Manchester City -- though that losing margin might well have been greater.
The Gunners very nearly self-destructed at one point when, forced into playing out from the back, Petr Cech came within inches of slotting a dreadful pass directly into his own net.

Gasps of amazement were soon replaced with hoots and howls of derision, with Bayer Leverkusen seizing the opportunity to join in and troll from afar.
After losing first-choice goalkeeper Bernd Leno to Arsenal over the summer only to see him starting on the bench on Sunday, the Bundesliga club replied to a GIF of Cech's dreadful pass by poking a little fun.
Leverkusen then followed up by adding a short video demonstrating Leno's calmness under pressure -- the keeper starting a passing move in his goal area that ended in a goal being slotted away at the other end just 15 seconds later.
Talk about adding salt to the wound. Ouch.
