Leicester eye move for Rennes ace Ousmane Dembele - sources

Leicester City are interested in signing Rennes winger Ousmane Dembele, but have been told he will cost €30 million, sources have told ESPN FC.

Dembele, 18, has become one of the most sought-after young players in Europe after scoring 12 goals and laying on five assists in 25 matches in his first season in Ligue 1.

The likes of Bayern Munich, Barcelona, Liverpool, Manchester City and Borussia Dortmund have all been credited with an interest in the exciting attacker. But now newly crowned Premier League champions Leicester have joined the chase and expressed an interest in bringing the teenager to the King Power Stadium next season.

However, a source close to the French club has told ESPN FC that they will not sell Dembele on the cheap and are demanding a figure in the region of €30m (£23.7m) before considering cashing in on the teenager.

Leicester boss Claudio Ranieri has said the side "do not need superstars" but will be keen to build a young team for the future and Dembele is regarded as a star in the making.

The Frenchman only signed his first professional contract with Rennes last October and, although his deal runs until 2018, the French club can expect several offers this summer for their prized asset.
