Mauro Icardi and Diego Maradona reignite feud over Maxi Lopez

Inter Milan striker Mauro Icardi and Argentina legend Diego Maradona have again exchanged insults, this time ahead of a charity game in Rome.

Maradona has never forgiven Icardi after he married the ex-wife of former Sampdoria teammate Maxi Lopez, who now plays for Torino, shortly after they divorced two years ago.

Wanda Nara has three children with Lopez and one with Icardi, and the the Inter forward thinks that Maradona should not get involved in other people's business.

A selection of Roma players are to play a Lazio team in a game for peace organised by the Pope at the Eternal City's Stadio Olimpico and Maradona is among those invited. Icardi will not be there, but Maradona has taken exception to his compatriot even being in the same country.

"I don't talk about traitors," Maradona said, reports La Gazzetta dello Sport. "I'm here at the game of peace with children and Icardi doesn't fit in here."

Icardi hit back, telling Sky Sport Italia: "His words have nothing to do with the game for peace. He's just gone and made another mess, like he did last year.

"Each time he opens his mouth he just makes a mess. We're talking about a person who cannot be an example to anybody.

"He was a great footballer, but I can't respond to people who are outside of the game."

Icardi and Lopez have been at odds ever since and, in April, Icardi branded Lopez "ignorant" after Lopez refused to shake Icardi's hand for a second time before a game.

Ronaldinho, Roberto Carlos, Cafu, Edgar Davids and Hernan Crespo are among the names of those who will take part in Wednesday night's charity match.
