The summer transfer window is closed for the top leagues in Europe! After a summer full of international football, countless clubs waited until the last minute to pull off their transfers. See all the major deals here and check out how we graded the biggest signings. But just because the window is shut until January, that doesn't mean the rumours won't keep coming.
TOP STORY: Madrid eye double deal for Haaland and Mbappe
Real Madrid are plotting a double swoop for two of Europe's brightest talents next summer, hoping to pair Dortmund striker Erling Haaland and PSG's Kylian Mbappe up front.
Marca reports that despite seeing a €200 million bid for Mbappe rejected in the recent transfer window, Madrid will look to recruit the France star on a free transfer if he does not agree to new terms ahead of 2022.
And Carlo Ancelotti's side are also keen on Haaland, who will be available for €75m at the end of the season due to a release clause in his contract.
The Norway striker attracted interest from the Premier League over the summer with Manchester United, Manchester City and Chelsea enquiring about his availability, but teams could be prepared to wait it out with Haaland available for a much more affordable fee next year.

21.57 BST: Inter Milan are in pole position to sign Ajax goalkeeper Andre Onana next summer, according to Calciomercato. The Cameroon international hasn't played since January due to a doping ban, and looks likely to leave Amsterdam when his contract ends in 2022. Napoli have shown interest in the 25-year-old as they anticipate David Ospina's departure, but Inter have already reached a deal in principle with Onana's entourage -- though that hasn't led to a pre-contract yet.
21.24 BST: On Thursday, Eduardo Camavinga opened up about his move from Stade Rennais to Real Madrid, as quoted by L'Equipe. When asked how he's been through the past few days, the 18-year-old replied: "Quietly, with everything that happened and my transfer to Real Madrid. It was done rather quickly, on the eve of the end of the transfer window. It's a lot of joy, pride. The friends have roomed me and are happy for me. It's a dream, any player would love to play for Real Madrid and I'm also happy to be with the U21s and to meet my friends. It's nice to have the victory."
20.51 BST: Salernitana are making an attempt to sign free agent Franck Ribery, as has been reported by Corriere dello Sport. The Frenchman has been a free agent since his contract with Fiorentina came to an end in the summer, with Hellas Verona also showing interest in the 38-year-old. Ribery would like to stay in Italy, but it is uncertain whether his yearly salary of €4m in Florence can be matched.
20.18 BST: Newcastle United have made a statement on their official website defending their "spend what we have" transfer policy. This comes after fan frustration at a window that saw former loanee Joe Willock come in from Arsenal as their only permanent senior signing. However, the Magpies insist that their action comes from a "commitment to being run in a sustainable manner" and "does not come at the expense of ambition."
19.45 BST: Shkodran Mustafi has completed a move to LaLiga outfit Levante, as was confirmed by the club. The centre-back, who has previously represented the likes of Arsenal, Valencia and Everton, was part of the Schalke side that finished bottom of the Bundesliga table last term and left as a free agent.
19.12 BST: MLSsoccer.com are reporting that New York Red Bulls have signed defender Issiar Drame. The 22-year-old was most recently at Olimpik Donetsk in Ukraine, but has been a free agent since the summer. Injuries to Aaron Long and Andres Reyes have left NYRB light at the heart of their defence, and the club have responded by adding Drame to the loan signing of Lucas Monzon from Danubio.
18.39 BST: Samu Castillejo has seen various moves fall through this summer, but the Spaniard could still depart AC Milan for CSKA Moscow, according to Calciomercato. The Russian outfit, who lost Nikola Vlasic to West Ham United on Deadline Day, have until Sept. 7 to complete transfers. Milan are willing to let the 26-year-old winger leave as he has not even made their UEFA list, with CSKA looking at a costly loan with an option to make the move permanent, while the Serie A side wants an obligation with a transfer fee of €8m to €10m.
18.06 BST: Wolverhampton Wanderers are set to start work on extending Adama Traore's contract, but could look to move the Spain international in January if he doesn't sign, reports the Birmingham Mail. The 25-year-old has two years remaining on his deal and has repeatedly turned down extensions over the past 12 months. The club rejected two offers from Tottenham Hotspur in August and demanded £50m to sanction his departure, but it could be easier for him to leave now as Wolves refuse to see his contract run down.
17.33 BST: Mario Mandzukic has announced his retirement in an emotional Instagram post addressed to "Little Mario," in which he looks back at a career that included spells at Bayern Munich, Atletico Madrid and Juventus. The Croatian was a free agent after his contract with AC Milan came to its culmination in the summer, and while Fabrizio Romano has indicated that the attacker did have options on the table, he has now decided to hang up his boots.

16.33 BST: New Manchester City forward Kayky has been speaking with Globo Esporte.
The 18-year-old Brazilian was set to join the club in January 2022, after agreeing a €10m move from Fluminense, but his arrival has been fast-tracked and he is now at the City Football Academy already.
"We had an agreement that was until the end of the year, but we weren't able to fulfil it. They both had projects and understood that it was better for me to go now, that it was the best time. As mentioned, it was friendly," Kayky told Globo Esporte.
"I've been anxious since the first time they said they had a proposal for me from Manchester City. It was my dream to work with Pep Guardiola, who I consider one of the best coaches, and every day I got closer I got more anxious. I tried to keep the focus here, I had the whole season ahead of me. But it gets closer to the presentation date, it gets that butterflies in my stomach, which always hits when we go out on the pitch. And it's very good to feel it."
Asked about playing with City's stars and against the Premier League's finest, he added: "It'll only drop there when you realise that you are working day-to-day with people you never imagined playing, that you used to watch on television, playing video games with the players themselves... And one day you can be there, play against Cristiano Ronaldo, who's one of my idols, I have no idea about it. I think the penny will only drop when I get there."
15.52 BST: Calciomercato says that Juventus striker Paulo Dybala isn't close to renewing his contract, amid interest from Tottenham.
Dybala, 27, came close to leaving in 2019 but now that Cristiano Ronaldo has departed he should get top billing in Turin.
Former Juventus sporting director Fabio Paratici is now at Spurs, which has fuelled rumours that Dybala could move to London on a free transfer when his contract expires next summer.
Dybala has been in talks over a new contract and reportedly wants around €10m a season to bring him to parity with Matthijs de Ligt, but Juve aren't willing to budge and Dybala's agent Jorge Antun has some tough negotiating ahead if he is to stay.
15.10 BST: Arsenal midfielder Lucas Torreira joined Fiorentina on a season-long loan deal during the transfer window and has revealed why he wanted to leave.
Torreira, 25, returned to the Emirates at the end of last season after a loan spell with Atletico Madrid. He signed from Sampdoria for £24m in 2018 but had little hope of playing after talks with manager Mikel Arteta.
"I wanted to go back to Italy, where I felt good," he told Calciomercato. "For me the most important thing is to play. It's true that we have been talking about Fiorentina for many years, I want to make the most of this experience now that I'm here."
14.18 BST: Tottenham landed Cristian Romero, Pierluigi Gollini, Bryan Gil and Emerson Royal during the transfer window, while also signing Pape Matar Sarr and sending him back to Metz on loan.
The club's new director of football Fabio Paratici has described the 18-year-old Sarr as "one of the most talented in Europe."
"Our job is not to look just at tomorrow, but maybe also past tomorrow or next year," he said. "I think we made a great signing. In all of Europe they speak about this, a lot of teams were interested, a lot of teams were there to sign [him], so we made a very good signing.
"He needs experience, he needs to play games, to stay in one team and play regularly -- a great investment for the Club, and a great vision for the future."
14.02 BST: Barcelona had to let Antoine Griezmann leave on loan on Deadline Day due to their financial woes, and he moved back to LaLiga champions Atletico Madrid.
13.24 BST: Former Tottenham defender Serge Aurier terminated his contract a few days ago and now he's being linked with a move to London rivals Arsenal.
Aurier, 28, joined Tottenham from PSG in 2017 for around €28m but has slipped down the pecking order this season and has no future at the club. Sky Sports reports that he "wants to stay in England and Arsenal are one of a number of clubs that have been made aware of his preference."
The Ivory Coast international saw offers from France, Russia and Turkey during the transfer window, but couldn't finalise a move and opted to leave Tottenham for free a year early.
12.55 BST: ICYMI -- Manchester United confirmed Cristiano Ronaldo will wear the No. 7 shirt after he rejoined the club from Juventus.
The Old Trafford side announced Ronaldo had officially signed on Monday after posting confirmation of an agreement with the player to make the move the previous Friday.
And on Thursday, moments after posting a teaser clip of a United shirt with Ronaldo's name on the back, the club announced he would wear the No. 7 shirt that has become part of his CR7 brand and which he wore during his first spell at the club.
Edinson Cavani had initially been handed the No. 7 shirt at the start of the campaign, having worn it last season, and appeared in Sunday's victory over Wolverhampton Wanderers in it.
United announced Cavani will take the No. 21 shirt -- vacated by Daniel James following his departure to Leeds United -- which he wears while playing for Uruguay.
12.02 BST: Arsenal have signed United States women's national team forward Tobin Heath on a free transfer, the club have announced.
The two-time World Cup winner played with Manchester United in the Women's Super League during the 2020-21 season but saw her time in the league cut short after she sustained an ankle and then a knee injury.
She had signed a one-year deal with the Manchester club and announced at the end of the season that she wouldn't be returning.
Heath, who is a life-long Arsenal fan, returned to fitness in time to compete with the USWNT at the Olympics where they won a bronze medal. Her National Women's Soccer League rights are held by new expansion team Racing Louisville.
11.30 BST: Man United will be interested in landing Erling Haaland next summer.
10.48 BST: Emerson Royal has said he felt hurt by the way Barcelona forced him to make a deadline day move to Premier League side Tottenham Hotspur.
Emerson, 22, had only signed for Barca in June when the club activated a clause to recall him from Real Betis for €9m. However, when Tottenham offered €25m for the right-back on Monday, the Barca hierarchy called him into the training ground and explained that they were going to let him go, despite his desire to stay.
"I thought the club wanted me to stay," Emerson told Marca in an interview on Friday. "I started on Sunday [against Getafe]. Then, the next day I started to see a mountain of things came coming out. That Tottenham were talking with Barcelona, that it was almost done. I didn't know anything. The club called me to the training ground and that is when I learned they wanted me to go."
Emerson explained that Barcelona's financial crisis was the reason he was pushed out the door.
"The directors were all there, telling me the club's situation wasn't good, that they were going through a difficult moment and that it was best to accept the offer," he said. "I repeated that I wanted to stay because it was my dream to play for Barcelona. I knew I could succeed there if I was at my best. But I'm not stupid and we reached a moment where I realised they were telling me I was going whatever happened.
10.15 BST: Boca Juniors vice-president Juan Roman Riquelme is convinced Lionel Messi will return to play for Barcelona once he wins the Champions League with PSG.
Riquelme, a former Barcelona player and ex-Argentina teammate of Messi, told TyC: "I don't know if it's strange [Messi's departure from Barcelona], but I think we are all excited to see him enjoy himself on the pitch with [Kylian] Mbappe, Neymar... perhaps it [his arrival to PSG] fulfils the dream of all of Paris.
"If he doesn't win it [Champions League] now, he will never win it again. I'm certain that he will end his career at Barcelona, that he will win the Champions League with Paris and will return."
09.52 BST: Atletico Madrid president Enrique Cerezo has spoken about Antoine Griezmann's return to the club after two seasons at Barcelona.
The France forward joined Barca in 2019 for €120m, but has returned on a season-long loan with an obligation to sign for €40m after the Camp Nou club fell into financial trouble. Having signed Luis Suarez from Barcelona last summer, Atletico further strengthened their attack with Griezmann's arrival and their president is very happy.
"I would understand if a fan booed Griezmann at the Metropolitano [stadium] but we are not going to gain anything from that," Cerezo said. "Griezmann was eager to return. Even though he left [Atletico] in a strange manner, he has proved this year that he was mad about returning to Atletico.
"We've been lucky to be able to have Griezmann with us this season. I think the two moves [Suarez and Griezmann] have worked out very well for the two teams [Barca and Atletico]. It's been a good deal for everyone."
09.08 BST: Kylian Mbappe will "sooner or later play for Real Madrid," according to France teammate Karim Benzema.
Real Madrid failed in their attempt to sign the France striker Klian Mbappe from Paris Saint Germain on the final day of the transfer window after offering €200m for the 22-year-old, who is out of contract in June.
"Mbappe will play for Real Madrid sooner or later," Madrid striker Benzema told French station RTL. "We get along really well and I would like him to be with me already in Madrid."
08.41 BST: Villarreal defender Pau Torres says he does not regret turning down a move to Tottenham Hotspur this summer.
Torres, 24, has impressed as centre-back last season and lifted the Europa League trophy with Villarreal in May. He has earned 14 caps for Spain.
"I was told about Tottenham's interest, but I always had it clear in my mind that I wanted to continue at Villarreal," the Villarreal-born player said. "My idea was to experience a thrilling season [after qualifying for the Champions League].I wanted to remain home and at Villarreal. It was a quick decision. I'm happy with the decision I've taken. Personally, I have a very beautiful season ahead as it will be my debut in the Champions League.
"It's going to be a demanding season and my aim is to continue to play at the highest level and continue to give joy to our fans."
08.00 BST: Barcelona midfielder Miralem Pjanic joined Besikatas on a season-long loan on Thursday night.
The transfer window closed in Spain on Tuesday but it remains open in Russia and Turkey, allowing Barca to move another player off of their wage bill.
Pjanic, 32, started just six games in LaLiga following his transfer from Juventus last summer.

- Barcelona are close to confirming the signing of 17-year-old Emre Demir. Mundo Deportivo writes that the Blaugrana will pay a €2m fee to Kayserispor, and that they will also allow the midfielder to stay at the club until he turns 18 in January. The deal is expected to be announced in the coming weeks for the prospect who has made a number of appearances off the bench for the Turkish Super Lig club, scoring once.
- Cedric Soares is keen to stay at Arsenal despite reports that he was one of a trio of players that was to be moved on from the Emirates. According to Football.London, the defender wants to prove himself at the Gunners despite a mixed start to his career in North London since joining from Southampton in 2020. The 30-year-old has started twice for Arsenal in the Premier League this season as he fights to start in Mikel Arteta's side.
- Former Ligue 1 star Enzo Crivelli could be set for a domestic switch as Antalyaspor continue to monitor the Istanbul Basaksehir forward. That's according to Foot Mercato, who say that discussions between the two Turkish clubs have begun over a loan move, where the window remains open. The 26-year-old struggled to find form during the last campaign, managing just two goals from 36 appearances, but Antalyaspor will be hoping he can return to the form that saw him tally 14 goals in his debut season.
- Lazio could target Nicolas Nkoulou as an alternative to signing David Luiz, reports Calciomercato. Manager Maurizio Sarri is trying to recruit a centre-back from the list of available free agents, and with David Luiz linked with a move back to Brazil, the former Torino star could receive an approach from Le Aquile. The 31-year-old would add vital experience to the backline, having been a key starter in the heart of defence for both Marseille and Torino.
- Spezia star M'Bala Nzola is close to a move to Istanbul Basaksehir, says Fabrizio Romano. The Turkish Super Lig remains one of the few leagues remaining where the transfer window remains open, and that has seen Turkish clubs move quickly to bolster their squads without challenges for signatures from Europe's top leagues. The Angola international scored 11 times in 21 starts for Spezia last season, and is reported to be discussing personal terms with the team.
