LIVE Transfer Talk: PSG to spend Neymar cash on Donnarumma?

The Premier League transfer window has closed, but the rest of Europe remains open for business. Plus, it's never too late to look forward to January! Click here to view the latest transfers and keep up to date with the latest gossip below.

TOP STORY: PSG to spend Neymar cash on Donnarumma?

Assuming that PSG are willing to negotiate with one of Barcelona, Real Madrid or Juventus by the end of the transfer window, Neymar should be departing Paris this summer. Various deals suggested would either include players, cash up front, or a loan deal with an upfront payment and then plenty of cash later on.

Either way, PSG will have money to spend up until Sept. 2 and La Repubblica reports that they are looking to bring in a new goalkeeper in AC Milan's Gianluigi Donnarumma for around €60m.

Donnarumma, 20, has long been on PSG wishlist and current No. 1 Alphonse Areola has done little to cement his position. La Repubblica even suggests that Areola could be included in the Donnarumma deal as a makeweight, though with Gianluigi Buffon and Kevin Trapp leaving already that would mean a shortage of backup options.

The goalkeeping spot is so important to them that a Donnarumma move may happen regardless of Neymar's future. But if they somehow manage to land the Italian, sell Neymar, AND gain a player like Paulo Dybala or Luis Suarez, then they will have won the European window.

LIVE BLOG

23.30 BST: That will do it for the latest edition of our LIVE Transfer Talk blog. We hoped you enjoyed following along with us and remind you to check back shortly for the latest transfer rumours, reports and completed deals. Goodnight!

23.22 BST: You probably know by now that Inter Milan and Man United are currently negotiating a season-long loan deal for Alexis Sanchez.

What you probably don't know is just how costly getting Alexis of the books at Old Trafford could prove for United. The proposed Sanchez loan deal would feature an option for Inter to buy the Chilean but Sportsmail understands the San Siro club are planning on offering Sanchez a contract worth no more than £150,000-per-week if they decide to make the deal permanent next summer.

One problem. Sanchez currently makes £500,000-per-week and likely wouldn't agree to take that drastic of a pay cut. Therefore, the Red Devils would likely be forced to pay out the remaining two years of his contract -- a total of £36m! This deal just gets worse and worse by the hour for United...

22.54 BST: The Daily Mail understands that Barcelona are in talks with Red Bull Salzburg left-back Gideon Mensah on a season-long loan.

The Under-23 Ghana international has yet to make an official first-team appearance for Salzburg but recently impressed in a friendly against Real Madrid. If signed it is expected that Mensah would train with Barca's first team and play games for the club's second team in the Segunda B.

Mensah has played in Austria since 2016 and last season played 10 times on loan for Sturm Graz.

22.19 BST: Man United and Tottenham were both monitoring Dinamo Zagreb and Spain Under-21 attacker Dani Olmo this summer but are set to lose out the young talent.

With the English window having been closed for two weeks, Spanish outlet AS writes that Atletico Madrid are now favourites to sign the youngster this window and have already begun talks with the player's representatives.

Olmo, who spent seven years at Barcelona's famed La Masia, was named to team of the tournament at the recent U21 Euros and scored and was named Man of the Match in the final which Spain won 2-1 over Germany. Olmo scored 12 goals and added nine assists last season as Zagreb ran away with the title, and has already racked up four goals and three assists in four games this campaign.

Definitely one to watch for the future, Man United and Tottenham will be hoping Zagreb qualify for the Champions League and that Olmo stays in Croatia beyond the Sept. 2 European transfer deadline.

21.39 BST: Roma have already brought in two new central defenders this window and are reportedly in talks for a third.

Having already signed Gianluca Mancini from Atalanta and Mert Cetin from Genclerbirligi, Goal.com understands that Roma and Juventus are currently holding talks surrounding Daniele Rugani, 25. With Giorgio Chiellini and Leonardo Bonucci still in tow  the arrivals of Matthjis de Ligt and Merih Demiral this summer, Rugani is the odd man out in Turin.

Juventus have requested a fee of between €20-25 million for Rugani and are also hoping to recoup youngster Alessio Riccardi in the deal. Earlier on Wednesday, Roma signed right-back David Zappacosta on a season-long loan from Chelsea.

21.03 BST: We have had a coaching change in MLS.

The Montreal Impact have dismissed head coach Remi Garde and will hire Wilmer Cabrera, who was recently fired by the Houston Dynamo. The former Lyon boss has been in charge of the Impact since the 2018 season, compiling a 24-29-8 record including 10-13-4 this season. Meanwhile, Cabrera was fired just last week by the Dynamo after compiling a 32-39-22 record as Dynamo boss in MLS play, while also leading Houston to the 2018 US Open Cup.

20.18 BST: Liverpool centre-back Dejan Lovren's proposed move to Roma has fallen through but the Croatian could still leave Anfield before the Sept. 2 deadline.

German outlet Bild is reporting that Bayer Leverkusen are now in for the veteran defender, as they seek to improve their depth behind Sven Bender and Jonathan Tah. Lovren is currently behind Virgil van Dijk, Joel Matip and Joe Gomez at Liverpool and is seeking a more important role.

Stay tuned...

19.27 BST: Manchester United youngster Tahith Chong has no interest in a loan move and wants to fight for a spot at Old Trafford.

Dutch outlet Voetbal International claims Feyenoord and PSV Eindhoven have both enquired about taking the 19-year-old on loan but that Chong has rejected them, instead preferring to try and break into the team at United. Chong, who boasts some of the best hair in the Premier League, has made four first team appearances to date for the Red Devils.

18.52 BST: Roma have announced the loan signing of right-back Davide Zappacosta from Chelsea.

The 27-year-old has signed a one-year contract extension with the Blues but been loaned directly out to his native Italy, where he previously played with Isola Liri, Avellino, Atalanta and most notably Torino. The Italy international has made 52 appearances for Chelsea since arriving in 2017, including 26 in the Premier League.

Props again to Roma for continuing to draw attention to and supporting charities devoted to missing children this summer on Twitter with their transfer unveilings.

18.08 BST: Aberdeen have rubbished reports that Italian outfit Lazio have enquired about star striker Sam Cosgrove.

La Gazzetta dello Sport reported on Tuesday that Cosgrove, who scored 21 goals in 44 games last year for Aberdeen, had caught the eye of Simone Inzaghi and Lazio and was on their transfer shortlist. The Scottish club have told the BBC that they have had no contact with Lazio about the 22 year old.

Cosgrove, who scored six goals in six games in this year's Europa League, signed a contract extension with the Dons through 2022 in January.

17.41 BST: We've already had a few deals finalised today and here is another one. French side Dijon have acquired defender Hamza Mendyl, once linked with Arsenal, on a season-long loan from Schalke.

The Morocco left-back, 21, made 16 appearances during his debut season with Schalke, after arriving on a five-year deal from Lille. Dijon, who finished 18th and only survived the drop via Ligue 1's relegation/promotion play-off last season, will be hoping Mendyl can help a defence that a shipped 60 goals last season, the second-worst mark in Ligue 1.

17.15 BST: By now it is no secret that David Beckham is looking to make a major splash signing for his expansion MLS club Inter Miami CF, which will begin play during the 2020 season,

One player that could be keen? Barcelona's Luis Suarez, according to reports. Mundo Deportivo writes that Suarez, 32, is receptive to the interest of Inter Miami and would consider moving there to culminate his career. The striker would not leave immediately nor ahead of next season but reportedly would eye next season's winter window in January as a potential time to seek a new challenge.

Uruguay's record goalscorer with 58, Suarez showed last season there is still plenty left in the tank by impressively bagging 21 La Liga goals in 33 games. Injuries have plagued the man from Salto in recent campaigns, including at present with a calf injury, but he would still represent a major coup for MLS.

In recent years veteran strikers such as David Villa, Robbie Keane, Wayne Rooney and Zlatan Ibrahimovic have flourished while playing into their mid-30s in the United States.

16.40 BST: Former Liverpool striker Daniel Sturridge has joined Turkish side Trabzonspor on a three-year deal.

16.00 BST: Mexico international Hirving Lozano is set to sign a five-year deal with Napoli worth €4m a season, according to Corrie dello Sport.

Lozano was reportedly scheduled to have a medical on Wednesday morning having landed in Rome on Tuesday night.

The winger made scored 21 goals in 40 appearances for PSV last season.

15.28 BST: How will former Barcelona star Philippe Coutinho fare on loan at Bayern Munich? The ESPN FC panel discuss whether the move will turn the Brazil international's fortunes around.

14.36 BST: Boca Juniors' newest cult hero Daniele De Rossi has said that he "feels at home" at the club since moving to Argentina from Roma last month.

"I am happy, I feel at home. I was a little scared for the many changes, but now I am very happy," De Rossi told Fox Sport.

"I have a group on Whatsapp where I talk to my friends only about midfielders, and the photo is that of Riquelme, a player you can't find in today's football. he is an idol, I think he is the most complete midfielder in history, second only to Iniesta who was the strongest."

13.23 BST: Barcelona and Chelsea are chasing Las Palmas' 16-year-old starlet Pedri in an attempt to get the midfielder at a cut-down price before the teenager makes a bigger name for himself, Spanish outlet AS have reported.

Pedri has made his professional debut for La Liga 2 side Las Palmas in a 1-0 league defeat to Huesca on Sunday.

AS report that the midfielder could be available for around €10m, a figure that would greatly improve Las Palmas' reportedly difficult financial situation.

12.45 BST: Inter Milan striker Romelu Lukaku struggled to find form last season for former club Manchester United, but ESPN FC's Gab Marcotti explains why Inter fans are so excited to see their new man in action.

11.48 BST: Leicester City striker Islam Slimani has joined AS Monaco on a season-long loan, the club have announced.

The 31-year-old Algeria international signed for the Foxes from Sporting Lisbon in 2016, scoring 13 times in 46 games, as well as completing loan spells at Newcastle United and Fenerbahçe.

11.35 BST: Franck Ribery has arrived in Florence to complete a medical ahead of a move to Fiorentina.

The former Bayern Munich winger was released by the German club after his contract expired after 12 years at the club, having won a Bundesliga-record nine league titles.

"I am here with my family. We're doing something altogether," Ribery said after landing in Florence. "I have already spoken to Fiorentina and Luca Toni, who told me this was a great club and a beautiful city."

10.52 BST: Inter Milan castaway Mauro Icardi seems convinced that he is staying at the club as he is building a house in Milan, despite being banned from preseason, losing the captaincy and his shirt number.

Inter have reportedly been trying to offload the striker, having already signed striker Romelu Lukaku from Manchester United for €80m.

Icardi, 26, took to Instagram to show pictures of the house under construction, hashtagging the words "Milan" and "home" in the post.

10.18 BST: Cristiano Ronaldo believes that figures paid in transfers nowadays are "surreal" and has hinted that the value of a player of his calibre in the current transfer market would be up to €400m.

The Portugal captain joined Juventus on an initial €100m from Real Madrid last summer. Recently short-listed for UEFA Men's Player of the Year Award, the 34-year-old forward, a five-time Champions League winner, refused to give a figure of how much he would cost in transfer market but told Portuguese TVI: "When I see goalkeepers that are sold for €75m, a player that does what I do on the pitch and guarantees goals, should be worth three or four times more, easily.

"These days the prices are surreal. Leaving [Joao] Felix's case [€126m transfer to Atletico Madrid] to one side, but now a player that has not proved anything is worth €100m. This is madness. You see centre-backs and goalkeepers transferred for astronomical figures. But I guess in a way it's good because it's proof that the football business is alive and apparently in good health."

09.50 BST: The FC TV guys weigh in on Philippe Coutinho's loan move to Bayern.

09.05 BST: Real Madrid midfielder Casemiro will not be moving to Paris Saint Germain to facilitate Neymar joining the Bernabeu outfit, sources have told ESPN FC.

PSG have reportedly enquired about the possibility of signing Casemiro during talks with Madrid over which players could be used in a possible part-exchange deal for the midfielder's fellow Brazil international.

But sources said that Casemiro would not be open to the idea of leaving the Bernabeu for the Parc des Princes, just as ESPN FC learned when the idea was floated of other Blancos teammates including Gareth Bale, Vinicius Jr. or Luka Modric possibly being included as makeweights in a Neymar deal.

Having spent over €300m on new signings this summer, bringing in around €115m in sales, it would be difficult for Madrid to meet PSG's hopes of recouping the €222m they paid Barcelona for Neymar in 2017. However, sources have told ESPN FC that the Bernabeu board are still very optimistic that they can get a deal done before the Spanish transfer window shuts on Sept. 2.

Sources told ESPN FC on Tuesday evening that PSG had rejected a Barca bid for their former player worth €190m -- €40m up front and the remainder next summer.

08.33 BST: Paris Saint-Germain's interest in signing Juventus forward Paulo Dybala is not dependent on whether or not Neymar remains at the club, according to RMC Sport.

The French radio station reports that PSG sporting director Leonardo sees the chance to sign the Argentina international as a "great opportunity."

However, despite there being a reported intensification of contact between the Ligue 1 champions and Dybala's representatives, there has been no significant breakthrough and the deal is likely to be worked on right up until the Sept. 2 deadline before it is completed.

Dybala's proposed move to Tottenham earlier this month was called off after the player and his representatives failed to agree terms with the London club, sources told ESPN FC on the Premier League's transfer deadline day of Aug. 8.

Spurs agreed a fee of £60m with Juventus but agreeing personal terms with the 25-year-old and his agents complicated the move, due mostly to an image rights issue.

08.00 BST: Mohamed Salah insists he is happy at Liverpool despite being regularly linked with a move to Real Madrid.

Reports have regularly credited interest in the Egypt international from the Bernabeu ever since he emerged as one of the Premier League's top goal-scoring talents two years ago, and several senior figures in his homeland have also said the 27-year-old could end up in Spain.

However, Salah told CNN: "I'm happy at Liverpool. I'm happy in the city. I love the fans and they love me. I'm happy at the club."

PAPER TALK (by Steve Wright)

Bumper contract ensures Sancho stays at Dortmund

Jadon Sancho has signed a £190,000-a-week contract to stay at Borussia Dortmund, the Daily Mail reveals.

The 19-year-old recently turned down offers from Manchester United and Paris Saint-Germain, and the news that he has signed a new contract with his current club will come as bad news to Manchester City, who had been interested as well.

- When does the transfer window close?
- Transfer grades: Tracking every big club's deals
- All major completed transfer deals

That means that if these or any other interested parties choose to chase Sancho next summer, his price will be significantly inflated.

The England forward scored 13 goals and added 15 assists for the Bundesliga runners-up last season.

No chance Dembele leaves Barca

This summer's most protracted of transfer sagas has seen Barcelona offer Paris Saint-Germain just about the entirety of their first-team squad to make up for their lacking the cash needed to bring Neymar back to the Camp Nou. One name that has consistently been mentioned as a potential makeweight is Ousmane Dembele.

According to quotes from L'Equipe attributed to the France international's agent, Dembele, who picked up an injury on Friday and will be out for more than a month, is going nowhere.

"He has not planned on leaving FC Barcelona even for a moment," Moussa Sissoko was quoted as saying. "He is Barcelona, and he will stay 1,000 percent with the will to honour the colours of the club."

Even more interesting, Sissoko claims that Dembele was the subject of "several big European clubs." Just who else was keen to add the 22-year-old attacker to their ranks?

While we're at it, a quick update on the Barca-Neymar situation: PSG have rejected a €190 million offer from Barcelona that would see Neymar return to Nou Camp on a loan, sources have told ESPN FC.

Brugge keen on wantaway Wanyama

Brugge are preparing to make a move for Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Victor Wanyama, according to the Express.

The 28-year-old made just four appearances for Spurs last season and has yet to feature in their 2019-20 campaign.

It was thought that the £18m Kenya international would be able to stay in the Premier League when fellow Londoners West Ham United approached him with a loan deal, but that fell through before the Premier League's transfer window shut.

Wanyama has two years remaining on his £65,000 per week contract and wants to leave Mauricio Pochettino's side. The signing of Tanguy Ndombele from Marseille would suggest that they aren't too keen on his staying, either.

Tap-in

-- Michy Batshuayi wants to stay at Chelsea and fight for his place in Frank Lampard's lineup, according to the Evening Standard. The Belgium striker has reportedly asked for six months to try to prove his worth at Stamford Bridge, rather than being shipped out on loan for the fourth time.

-- Davide Zappacosta is set for a season-long loan to Roma from Chelsea, with the Italian club tweeting a photo of the defender arriving to the Eternal City on Tuesday. The loan marks a return to Serie A for Zappacosta, who joined Chelsea from Torino on a four-year deal for £23 million in 2017.
