How to watch the 2024-25 ASEAN Club Championship

The ASEAN Club Championship final will see Vietnam's Công An Hà Nội and Thai outfit Buriram United lock horns over two legs on May 14 and 21. SPORTFIVE

Following a 20-year hiatus, the ASEAN Club Championship returned this season -- providing clubs across Southeast Asia with the opportunity once again to lay claim to being kings of the region.

And after an enthralling past nine months, the tournament is down to its final two.

Having set the standard in the group stage as the only team to rack up five consecutive victories, it should come as no surprise that Vietnam's Công An Hà Nội have reached the decider -- even if they had to overcome a first-leg defeat to fight back and beat PSM Makassar in the semifinals.

With no shortage of Vietnam internationals, many who were part of the squad that won the most recent ASEAN Championship, to call upon alongside some key foreign contributors, CAHN will be relishing the opportunity to taste glory away from the domestic front -- having never featured on the continental stage previously.

Given CAHN's impressive charge began with a shock win over Buriram United back in August, the latter now have a chance to exact revenge on the Vietnamese opposition after finding form at the right time to book their own place in the final.

The Thai League 1 giants, who recently claimed a fourth consecutive -- and record-extending 11th -- domestic crown, may have had to settle for a runners-up spot behind CAHN in Group B.

But come the semis, it was they who issued the biggest statement of intent as they eased past fellow Thai outfit BG Pathum United with a 3-1 first-leg win before completing the job with last week's 0-0 draw in the return encounter.

Competing in five competitions this season, Buriram's depth has come to the fore but with only a handful of fixtures remaining -- and three pieces of silverware still up for grabs -- they will certainly be gunning for further glory, starting with the ASEAN Club Championship final.

The decider will take place over two legs on May 14 and 21.
