The mother of Keylor Navas says her son is not worried if Real Madrid decide to acquire a goalkeeper this summer.
Navas made eight saves in Madrid's 2-2 draw against Bayern Munich in Tuesday's Champions League semifinal return leg to help the La Liga giants reach their third straight final.
"Once again, he proved what a great goalkeeper he is," Navas' mother, Sandra Gamboa, said of her son to Cadena Ser radio.
"He made incredible saves. I think it was one of the best games he's had.
"We knew that he was going to do well. Keylor feels blessed and is very happy to be in the final."
The Costa Rica international, who is contracted to Madrid until 2020, admitted he cried when he came close to leaving for Manchester United in the summer of 2015 in a swap deal that would have seen David De Gea move the other way.
Navas' future with Madrid is uncertain, with Spain goalkeeper De Gea continuing to be linked with the reigning European champions, and Chelsea goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois also on their radar.
"I would love for Keylor to end his career in Madrid and that is what I think he would like but we will see what God's will is," Gamboa said.
"If they [Madrid] decide to bring another goalkeeper, he will be welcomed and have opportunities. That is something that doesn't depend on us. God knows why they would.
"The important thing is what Keylor has done and we will see what happens. I'm very proud of my son not just because he is a great goalkeeper but he is also a wonderful human being."
Madrid came close to acquiring Athletic Bilbao's Kepa Arrizabalaga during the winter transfer window but the deal was halted with coach Zinedine Zidane refusing to make a change at goalkeeper in the middle of the season.
"He is loved by everyone because he is humble," Gamboa said. "He is not only loved in Madrid but in Costa Rica and everywhere he goes."
Navas, meanwhile, joked about ongoing reports about his possible move away from the Bernabeu stadium this summer.
The 31-year-old said after Tuesday's game: "They have already signed a new keeper. I cut my hair and I'm a different man!"
The former Levante player, at Madrid since 2014, says he has had plenty of support.
"The captains have backed me at all times, when things go well and when things go badly," Navas said.
"We are a very united group and that is important. I don't care what people say because I am happy and I am privileged to play at Real Madrid.
"I'm thankful to those that are behind me all the way, those that believe in me and believe that I am worthy of being the Real keeper. If it was down to me I would renew [my contract] and retire at Real Madrid."
