Paris Saint-Germain will not sell Javier Pastore or other stars - agent

Paris Saint-Germain playmaker Javier Pastore's agent, Marcelo Simonian, does not expect the French champions to lose any of their star players anytime soon.

The futures of captain Thiago Silva, midfielder Marco Verratti and striker Edinson Cavani have all been the subjects of speculation recently, as well as that of his client, Pastore.

Despite a slow start to life under Unai Emery and a quieter summer than usual on the transfer market, the agent of the Argentina international said he does not think any of those important figures will actually leave Parc des Princes.

Simonian also played down rumours of a Serie A return for Pastore, even if it is where El Flaco has played some of the best football of his career.

"A change in PSG's strategy?" Simonian told Il Vero Milanista. "I do not know for sure but I do not think the club intends to sell their most important star players. In fact, I think they will do the contrary.

"In Italy, [Pastore] played some incredible football! Even at PSG, he has had some great seasons. For example, last year and this year, he was extraordinary before the injuries."

Pastore, 27, recently returned to the squad for PSG's 2-1 win away at FC Basel in the Champions League but ultimately did not feature.

The South American is now back in training, though, and could play a part for Les Parisiens against Stade Rennais on Sunday.

If he does finally take to the pitch again this weekend, it will only be his fifth Ligue 1 appearance of an injury-hit season so far.
