LONDON -- Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger has yet to decide whether new signings Shkodran Mustafi and Lucas Perez will start against Southampton on Saturday, but confirmed that Aaron Ramsey will not play.
Wenger has centre-back Mustafi and striker Perez available for the first time and has been impressed with the pair in training.
But asked whether they would be in his XI at the Emirates Stadium, he told a news conference on Friday: "I haven't decided yet.
"I have to see today how everybody comes back [after the international break] and who I will start tomorrow."
Mustafi may be the more likely to get a starting role after injuries to Per Mertesacker and Gabriel Paulista.
Wenger said his new signings had adapted "very quickly and very well," but added: "The real test is the games. So we'll know very soon, but what they do in training is promising."
He said Perez was "an interesting striker who is versatile, can play on the flank but especially through the middle, and can score goals" as well as providing assists.
Striker Olivier Giroud should also be fit to start his first league game of the season after playing for France during the international break, while Alex Iwobi is available after recovering from a thigh strain.
However, Ramsey's return will be delayed for at least another week after he suffered a hamstring problem in the opening match against Liverpool.
Wenger said the Wales international would not play against either Southampton or Paris Saint-Germain in the Champions League on Tuesday.
"He is in a good way, just not completely for tomorrow or Tuesday," the Arsenal boss added.
He will also make a late decision on the fitness of Alexis Sanchez, who only returned to London on Thursday after playing in two World Cup qualifiers.
