Fabian Delph storms out of Man City news conference as part of hoax

Manchester City midfielder Fabian Delph stormed out of an interview after being asked by the club's TV channel about his injury problems.

The 26-year-old has missed the last two months of the season with an Achilles tendon injury and reacted angrily when he was asked about his recovery by reporter Nicola McCarthy.

Asked an innocent question about a potential return date, Delph replied: "You lot like to ask a lot of questions about injuries. I thought City TV was supposed to be different?" Delph then walked out on the interview.

Little did McCarthy know that it was an elaborate April Fool's Day trick at her expense, which she found out two minutes later when Delph returned to reveal the truth.

And the England international gave the reporter a big hug after the jape insisting he had been put up to the hoax by her colleagues.
