TOP STORY: United facing Felipe flop?
Another gloomy spell for Manchester United could be poised to get a little gloomier, the Express warns.
After crashing out of the Europa League to Liverpool on Thursday, United now face the prospect of their much-predicted move for Lazio star Felipe Anderson not happening after all.
Reports suggested Brazilian attacking midfielder Anderson had held productive talks with the Old Trafford club and a move for £40 million or so was in the pipeline.
But hold on a moment there, says his agent Juliana Gomes, who the Express quotes as insisting that no offers have been received and that "for anything else, they should talk to us."
Lazio have previously said they turned down a £38.9m bid for Anderson last summer -- but the Express reckons United executive vice-chairman Ed Woodward is "desperate to land another marquee signing" and has kept the player in his sights.

Meanwhile, increasingly beleaguered manager Louis van Gaal has said he does not expect to be sacked even if his side suffer another setback in Sunday's Manchester derby.
No Lac of ambition for Hammers
Signing Dimitri Payet from France hasn't worked out too badly for West Ham, has it? And the Hammers could soon be about to make another signing from over the Channel, says the Mirror.
It reports that the Champions League-chasing Londoners have been in touch with Lyon about a move for France striker Alexandre Lacazette, who would set them back about £20m.
The 24-year-old has already expressed an interest in playing in the Premier League, and the Mirror says West Ham "are prepared to break the bank" to sign him.
They are unlikely to be the only club in for Lacazette, however, with London rivals Arsenal and Tottenham both also reportedly interested.
But David Venditelli, the striker's agent, is not so sure a move is on just yet and told L'Equipe: "For the moment, we're thinking Alex will still be a Lyon player next season. In any case, we'll discuss it in good time."
Even so, allez les 'Ammers, encore? Why not? It sounds sort of sophisticated.
Art of the possible
A switch to Chelsea remains a strong possibility for Bayern Munich midfielder Arturo Vidal, according to the Mirror.
It says Antonio Conte -- not yet confirmed as the new Stamford Bridge boss, don't forget -- is keen to make him a Blues player if, as expected, he gets the job.
Conte and Vidal have worked together before at Juventus, and with conspicuous success, with Vidal has quoted as saying that if he were "to go to war," he would take Conte with him. Just some football would be nicer though, Arturo.
Foxes hunt Hammers youngster
Claudio Ranieri, the author of what could be one of football's all-time great stories, is planning ahead for its summer chapter, The Sun reports.
It says the Leicester boss wants to make "a shock swoop" for young West Ham defender Reece Burke.
The 19-year-old Londoner, a centre-back who can also play at right-back, is keen to move to the King Power, the paper reports. And why wouldn't he be? He might be joining the Premier League champions, after all.
Burke, currently on loan at League One Bradford City, has played only five games for West Ham -- but we all know how good Leicester's knack for spotting potential has been in recent times.
BVB's Weigl in City sights
Borussia Dortmund have caught the eye of late, what with their outstanding Europa League performance over two legs against Tottenham followed by that quarterfinal draw against old boss Jurgen Klopp and Liverpool.
And their young star Julian Weigl has caught the eye of Manchester City, says the Mirror, which reports that they are preparing to make a £20m offer for him.
Germany under-21 international Weigl, it tells us, is admired by incoming City boss Pep Guardiola, with his passing and movement grabbing their attention. The 20-year-old midfielder has also been linked with Barcelona -- so Pep present versus Pep past in a battle for him?
Tap-Ins:
- Tottenham have got a good thing going on with Belgian players these days, and they could be about to add to it.
The Mirror reports that they have "stepped up their interest" in Anderlecht's Youri Tielemans, who is also attracting the attention of Liverpool, Atletico Madrid and fellow glamsters West Bromwich Albion.
Midfielder Tielemans, 18, would cost title hopefuls Tottenham "around £12m plus extras," the report says.
- Cambridge teenager Leon Davies is a player in demand, with a host of Premier League clubs after him, a source has told ESPN FC.
Davies is seen as one of the most promising young talents in the country even though he has yet to play for the first team at the League Two club, and Liverpool, Manchester City, Everton, Crystal Palace and Aston Villa have all asked about the full-back.
- West Brom defender Gareth McAuley had seemed likely to move on in the summer, but his performances for the Baggies this season have led them to look to extend his deal instead.
Manager Tony Pulis told the Express and Star that the 36-year-old was "in discussions" with the club and added: "He's been fantastic, and his fitness levels are extraordinary."
