ESPN's NBA Basketball Power Index (BPI) is a measure of team strength developed by the ESPN Analytics team. BPI is meant to be the best predictor of a team's performance for the rest of the season. BPI represents how many points above or below average a team is. BPI accounts for game-by-game efficiency, strength of schedule, pace, days of rest, game location and preseason expectations.

  • OVR W-L:Projected overall wins, accounting for results to date and BPI-based projections for remaining scheduled games.
  • WIN DIV%:Chance to win the conference division, according to BPI.
  • PLAYOFF%:Chance to make the NBA playoffs, according to BPI.
  • TOP6%:Chance of a Top 6 NBA Playoff seed, according to BPI
  • PLAYIN%:Chance of being in a Play-In game, according to BPI
  • PROJ SEED:Projected seed in the NBA Playoffs, according to BPI
  • PROJ DRAFT:Projected slot in the NBA Draft, according to BPI.
