      Matt Bloomfield on target as Wycombe sign off with victory

      Matt Bloomfield hit the winner as promoted Wycombe Wanderers ended their Sky Bet League Two campaign with a 1-0 win over Stevenage.Bloomfield coolly finished on 19 minutes in a game which Wycombe bossed from start to finish.Wanderers started the game strongly with Paris Cowan-Hall dragging an effort wide on eight minutes before Jack King nearly sliced Nathan Tyson's cross into his own net six minutes later.The pressure paid off when Bloomfield fired under the keeper on 19 minutes after finding himself in plenty of space.Cowan-Hall fired over from Michael Harriman's cut back on 25 minutes and the on-song frontman smacked an effort against the crossbar before Danny Newton cleared his follow-up off the line on 55 minutes.King headed wide for Stevenage just after the hour before Marcus Bean shot wide from the edge of the box at the other end.Joe Jacobson went close for the home side with a free-kick on 76 minutes and Yves Ma-Kalambay crucially saved with his feet to deny Matty Gooden an equaliser with a minute left to play as the Chairboys said goodbye to League Two in perfect style.

        Revell hat-trick inspires Stevenage to victory over Exeter

        Alex Revell scored a hat-trick as Stevenage marked their final home game of the season in style with a 3-1 victory over Exeter that ended the visitors' automatic promotion hopes.The Grecians needed something out of the game to keep up the pressure on third-place Wycombe, but their win at Chesterfield means that they can no longer be caught.Stevenage opened the scoring in the 14th minute when Ben Sheaf found Matt Godden with a fine pass and he teed up Revell to score at the near post.Exeter goalkeeper Christy Pym was then badly at fault for the hosts' second goal, as he was beaten to a loose ball by Revell, who rolled into an empty net.Four minutes into the second half, Revell completed his hat-trick with an excellent first-time finish after being teed up inside the area by Ben Kennedy.The Grecians did manage to pull one back with 12 minutes left through a confident Pierce Sweeney penalty after Jake Taylor was tripped in the area by Terence Vancooten.

          McNulty's early brace helps Coventry up to sixth

          Coventry moved up a place to sixth in League Two thanks to a comfortable 3-1 win against 10-man Stevenage.Mark Robins' men remain firmly on track to secure a play-off place thanks to two early goals from Marc McNulty and a Liam Kelly strike.Stevenage responded through Alex Revell at 2-0 down - all four goals came in the opening 37 minutes - but Luke Wilkinson's dismissal just before half-time gave them too big of a mountain to climb.It took the hosts just two minutes to go ahead, with Jonson Clarke-Harris teeing up McNulty for a 30-yard shot that too hot for goalkeeper Tom King to handle.Four minutes later it was 2-0 as McNulty tapped home his 20th league goal of the season after meeting Jordan Willis' knock-down.Stevenage halved the deficit in the 20th minute when Revell pounced on a defensive mix-up before lashing home.The Sky Blues' two-goal advantage was restored in the 37th minute when Kelly drove home from outside the box following Jordan Shipley's lay-off.Stevenage's hopes of getting anything out of the game then suffered another significan blow when Wilkinson was shown a straight red card following a crude challenge on McNulty.Kelly volleyed against the crossbar as Coventry sought to increase their lead but Revell almost made it 3-2 with 20 minutes left when he fired narrowly wide.City substitute Josh Barrett fired over the top late on but the points had already been secured.

            Stevenage draw sees Mansfield winless run continue

            Will Atkinson's equaliser salvaged a 1-1 draw for Mansfield at Stevenage but their winless run was extended to nine games as their play-off hopes continue to fade.The Stags are a point off the top seven in League Two after an improved second-half showing, but a win for manager David Flitcroft remains elusive after eight matches in charge.Stevenage went ahead after 15 minutes when Joe Martin's low corner caught Mansfield's defence napping, with Danny Newton flashing a first-time effort high into the net.Kane Hemmings headed a good chance wide for Mansfield before Newton was denied a second just before half-time when his low effort from outside the box was clawed away by Conrad Logan.The Stags equalised six minutes into the second half, as Hemming left Hayden White's dangerous cross for Atkinson, who produced a classy finish on the half-volley.Borough almost regained their lead when Luke Amos' effort was beaten away by Logan before Hemmings was denied a winner with six minutes left by a flying save from Tom King.

              Chris Whelpdale strike gives Stevenage victory at Newport

              Chris Whelpdale's first-half header was enough to earn Stevenage a 1-0 victory at Newport County.The winger was in the right place at the right time to earn Borough their second successive League Two win. Newport's slim chances of making a late charge for the play-offs look to be over with the gap now 11 points with six games remaining.Nervous Newport goalkeeper Joe Day missed four punches clear in the opening half an hour and had Mickey Demetriou to thank for sparing his blushes.The defender rushed back to his line to deny Danny Newton a tap-in and keep the scores level after Day failed to connect with a looping ball into the area.But he was finally beaten by a cross after Stevenage skipper Ronnie Henry clipped the ball to the back-post for Whelpdale to nod into the net after 43 minutes.They almost doubled their lead seconds after the restart when Henry's long-range half volley was acrobatically denied by Day. Frank Nouble and Josh Sheehan both had penalty appeals waved away, but Newport never threatened to equalise.

                Maamria off the mark at Stevenage with victory over Barnet

                Dino Maamria claimed his first victory as Stevenage manager with a 4-1 win over relegation-threatened Barnet.Two goals apiece from Danny Newton and Alex Revell saw off the Bees, who remain bottom of Sky Bet League Two, five points from safety with as many games to go.Martin Allen's side started this local derby on top, with Ryan Watson's in-swinging corner hitting the crossbar after eight minutes.But the hosts improved as the half progressed and Newton broke the deadlock a minute before the interval, meeting Ben Kennedy's deep cross to head in his 14th of the season.His left-footed volley from 25 yards rebounded in off a post to double their advantage in the 62nd minute.January signing Revell sealed Boro's victory five minutes later when he beat Craig Ross with a low drive.Shaquile Coulthirst scored a fine solo consolation for the Bees, beating Tom King with a powerful shot into the bottom corner.Newton unselfishly played in Revell to score Boro's fourth after the duo beat the offside trap three minutes from time.

                  Struggling Grimsby's winless run continues

                  Grimsby were unable to end their winless run in Sky Bet League Two as they were held to a goalless draw at home to Stevenage.Gary McSheffrey went closest for the hosts as he had an effort cleared off the line, while Chris Whelpdale saw a header come back off the post for the visitors.Mallik Wilks spurned a glorious opportunity to give Grimsby the lead when he received the ball from JJ Hooper in the box, with Jack King doing just enough to put the on-loan Leeds forward off.Siriki Dembele then forced Tom King into a good save as he unleashed a powerful drive from the edge of the penalty area.McSheffrey went closest for the hosts just before the break as he saw his goal-bound effort cleared off the line after a great run from full-back Andrew Fox.Twenty minutes before the final whistle, Whelpdale almost put Stevenage ahead when his header came back off the post, but no-one was able to convert on the rebound as the sides settled for a point each.

                    Dino Maamria's first game in charge of Stevenage ended in defeat after Colchester United claimed a 1-0 victory at the Lamex.Mikael Mandron's well taken first half strike gave the U's their first victory in six matches and extended the hosts' winless run to four games.Sammie Szmodics' snap-shot flashed inches wide early on for Colchester, while at the other end Alex Revell's downward header was gathered easily by keeper Sam Walker.Colchester grabbed a 27th-minute winner through Mandron, who expertly turned home Kane Vincent-Young's cross into a crowded area to give the visitors the lead.Szmodics almost made it 2-0 when he drove a low shot inches wide of the far post and Mandron's near post header was gathered by Stevenage keeper Tom King as Colchester deservedly went in ahead at half-time.Revell's spectacular effort from a tight angle flew just over early in the second half but Stevenage struggled to create opportunities after that.And although substitute Luke Amos' half-volley from 25 yards flashed just wide, Colchester claimed a narrow win.
