Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger was happy to see Olivier Giroud angry at missing his goal-scoring chances against Tottenham Hotspur on Sunday.
Giroud, 29, was unable to find the back of the net as Arsenal came from a goal down to draw 1-1 with their North London rivals in the Premier League.
The France international missed a number of opportunities against Spurs, and was seen punching the ground in frustration.
"He is very angry. I am pleased [with that]," Wenger said in the Daily Mirror.
"When you see a player who is happy to miss chances, you can worry. He wanted too much to score -- especially the opportunity he had in the six-yard box. But it can happen. I accept that.
"We have shown the character again today because we were a bit on the ropes, we responded."
Giroud has scored 47 Premier League goals in 109 appearances for the Gunners since signing from Montpellier in 2012.
With Walcott currently sidelined with a calf injury there is a reliance on Giroud to be Wenger's first-choice striker for their upcoming Premier League trips to West Brom and Norwich and their crucial Champions League group match against Dinamo Zagreb.
