Borussia Dortmund striker Ciro Immobile open to Italy return

Ciro Immobile has said there is a chance he could leave Borussia Dortmund and return to Italy.

Immobile, 25, signed for Dortmund from Torino last summer but he struggled to make an impact during his debut season in Germany, scoring three Bundesliga season.

The striker, who is contracted to Dortmund until 2019, has put his house up for sale, leading to speculation a summer move could be in the offing.

He said from Coverciano, where he is on national duty: "A return to Italy is not fantasy football. There's always that chance.

"Let's wait and see: first I need to speak with the new coach. We are in the early stages of the transfer market, so it's still very early. My name has been made next to that of some great clubs, and that is pleasing."

Dortmund's new coach Thomas Tuchel has, however, said he would be happy for the Italy international to remain at the club.

"He's got another chance with me. Just like any other player who is up for something new and is prepared to get himself into it," Tuchel said.
