United States international Jordan Morris is edging closer to a potential professional contract in Germany.
The 21-year-old attacker is currently on trial with Bundesliga side Werder Bremen, and club CEO Thomas Eichin said, "He could be a creative transfer."
Morris, fresh off winning the NCAA College Cup with Stanford, followed the recommendation of U.S. assistant coach Andreas Herzog, a former Bremen midfielder, and joined the club's winter training camp in Turkey on Monday.

Morris recently announced on Twitter that he was giving up his final year of eligibility at Stanford to "pursue a professional soccer career," and traveled to Germany after accepting the Hermann Trophy as the best college player in the U.S.
Eichin told Bremen newspaper Kreiszeitung that he has been impressed with what he saw during Morris' first training session with Bremen.
"He does a few things, you usually rarely see. He has his sights set on the goal at all time, does not think about it too much, and he reminds me of my time in ice hockey," said Eichin, a former director at ice hockey club Cologne Sharks.
The Bremen CEO added that he was particularly impressed with his direct movements to the goal.
"He's a typical American lad, always positive," Eichin said.
Morris' MLS rights are held by the Seattle Sounders, but he could still sign for Bremen on a free transfer.
"We have to check a few things first, it's about compensation," Eichin said. "This could be a creative transfer."
Later on Tuesday, Sounders general manager Garth Lagerwey responded to Eichin's comments.
"Jordan's over there training and they're going to react as they react, it's a thing we don't control," Lagerwey told MLSsoccer.com.
"It's part of Jordan's process, and when he completes his process I hope he signs with the Sounders. I think we put our best foot forward, I think MLS is a great place for a young player to start his career, and I think we continue to have a great relationship with Jordan.
"So I'm hopeful that will work out."
