Chelsea target Yoshinori Muto has told Bleacher Report that he will take his time as he considers his options over a potential move from FC Tokyo this summer.
Muto, 22, scored 13 goals in 33 games in 2014 to equal the record for the most number of goals in a debut season in the Japanese first division -- only a year after graduating as a student.
Now, the striker has attracted the attention of Jose Mourinho's Chelsea, who have reportedly put in an offer of £4 million to secure his signature in July. However, Muto won't be rushed into a decision and wants to ensure that he joins the right team.
"I want to think about it carefully," he said. "Where can I go to develop? A team that suits me, where I can play and develop. I'm thinking about that, and for now, I just want to take my time and think it through."
Muto also revealed that he was always looking to improve and believes that his good start to the J.1 season can be built upon.
"Four goals in five games is a good start, but I'm not satisfied with that, and I want to improve myself," he added.
"If I can get the ratio to more than a goal a game, then I will be able to become a better player, so that's what I'm aiming for."
In February, Premier League leaders Chelsea announced a new shirt sponsorship deal with Japanese tyre manufacturer Yokohama Rubber worth a reported £40m a year and are also considering a post-season tour to Japan this summer.
