Rivers United qualify for CAF Confederations Cup group stages


Nigerian side Rivers United have taken the final spot on the CAF Confederations Cup group stages after a 2-0 aggregate win against Rayon Sports.

Rivers won the first leg in Port Harcourt 2-0 last week, with Emeka Atuloma and Guy Kuemian getting the goals.

Rwandan side Rayon needed a miracle to turn the tie around, but could only manage a goalless draw, meaning Rivers go into the group stage draw on April 26 - the only Nigerian club to do so. They also have no representation in the CAF Champions League group stages.
