FIFA20 thumb injury causes player to miss Liga MX eSports tournament

An player for Liga MX side Santos Laguna has suffered an injury to his thumb while playing FIFA20 during preseason for the upcoming campaign.

Josecarlos Van Rankin will miss the rest of the La Liga MX eSports tournament and the club have announced Eduardo Aguirre will be his replacement.

"Our gamer Josecarlos Van Rankin has suffered an injury, caused by an overexuberant preseason," a club statement read.

"Following relevant tests, it was diagnosed he had suffered muscular fatigue in his right thumb, which means he will miss the season."

Santos won their first match against Xolos.
