Paul Pogba's Man United deal earned Mino Raiola €27m - Juventus chief

Paul Pogba's agent, Mino Raiola, received €27 million when the France midfielder joined Manchester United in the summer, Juventus general manager Giuseppe Marotta has confirmed.

Pogba, who had left United on a Bosman transfer when his contract expired in 2012, returned to Old Trafford for a world-record €105m (£89.3m) initial fee on Aug. 8 after several weeks of negotiations, with sources saying Raiola's fee had been the final sticking point in the talks.

Marotta has now told shareholders that Raiola, whose clients Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Henrikh Mkhitaryan also joined United in the summer, received €27m -- £24.1m at current exchange rates -- from the deal.

"He [Pogba] came from United for a price of around €1.5m," Marotta said. "After four years with us he decided to return to England. He wanted to leave at all costs. Our asking price was €105m plus €5m in bonuses, which is payable if the player renews with United or leaves for a fee of more than €50m.

"That brings us to a capital gain in the budget of €95m. Mino Raiola and his company will be paid €27m. Taking fees into account, the total gain for Pogba was €72m. Even then we didn't want to sell him, we wanted to put in French roots at Juventus."

Pogba, 23, has so far struggled to match expectations at United while Mkhitaryan, who joined from Borussia Dortmund, has started only one Premier League game and sources have told ESPN FC that Mourinho has been underwhelmed with the Armenia international.

Ibrahimovic, who arrived on a free transfer from Paris Saint-Germain, made a bright start to his United career with five goals in his first five games but has added only one in his eight appearances since.

Marotta also spoke of the importance of buy-out clauses to Juve, and said:"It is our duty to ensure that we are aware of any opportunities to move for quality players wherever possible."
