          TOP STORY: Man United to revisit Sancho in one year

          Manchester United is waiting until next summer to launch their bid for Jadon Sancho, according the Evening Standard.

          United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer will preach some patience and won't seek a quick fix to the team's attacking woes during the January window. Instead he'll work with Marcus Rashford and Anthony Martial as the senior strikers, with 17-year-old Mason Greenwood serving as backup.

          Sancho, a product of Manchester City's academy system, has been high on the list for both clubs, but United will milk the clock for the England player. The move is a gamble as United are left a bit thin up front after Romelu Lukaku's permanent switch and Alexis Sanchez's pending loan to Inter Milan.

          Sancho signed a new deal with Borussia Dortmund during the summer, but that won't put off Solskjaer and Co. from trying to lure the youngster in a year's time.

          22.09 BST: Paris Saint-Germain seems to be epicentre of the transfer market right now with Neymar, Keylor Navas and Ousmane Dembele all rumoured to be going out or coming in to the club.

          But what does PSG manager Thomas Tuchel have to say about all the transfer activity?

          On rumours there was a deadline of the 29th to complete a deal for Neymar, Tuchel said "Do you really think we will set a deadline on the 29th of August? It is a bit late for that... What can I say? I can give my opinion, but everybody already knows it. It is not the coach that decides everything in a situation like this, at a top club and involving a top player. It is something between many different parties. The first objective is to get to September 2nd and then analyse the composition of the squad. That is the reality."

          Tuchel also weighed in regarding Navas saying: "I cannot confirm that he is close to PSG. Alphonse Areola will play against Metz. Marcin Bulka will be on the bench."

          Finally, the German manager deflected a question regarding Ousmane Dembele saying "I know Ousmane well. He plays for another club and I do not discuss other club's players. He has a contract with Barcelona. I have not spoken about him here."

          Busy times in Paris with less than week remaining until the European transfer deadline.

          21:17 BST: Staying with our run of done deals, Saudi club Al-Ahli have announced they have signed Algeria international Youcef Belaili from Esperance de Tunis.

          Belaili, 27, was one of the breakout stars of this summer's Africa Cup of Nations, playing a key role as Algeria won the title. The winger, who once was suspended two entire years for testing positive for cocaine, will hope to continue his redemption story in Saudi Arabia.

          20.34 BST: Another one...

          Inter and Manchester United have confirmed that Alexis Sanchez will join the Italian club initially on loan through the endof the season. The Chilean, who is on about £500,000-a-week, has scored just three league goals in 32 appearances since joining the Red Devils from Arsenal back in Jan. 2018.

          Inter will be hoping their low-risk move pays major dividends, as Sanchez, now 30, will have a major point to prove after a disastrous spell at Old Trafford. Sanchez is the second big-money player United have offloaded to Inter this summer, after Romelu Lukaku joined the Nerazzurri earlier this month.

          19.42 BST: Here is one I didn't expect to write today... West Brom have signed goalkeeper Ali Al Habsi on loan for the rest of the season.

          The veteran shot-stopper, 37, has previously played in England with Bolton, Wigan, Brighton and Reading and has spent the last two seasons in Saudi Arabia with Al-Hilal. Speaking to the club's official website, the Oman international said "I've spent 12 years in English football and when the chance to come here and finish my career in England in a nice way came around, I had no doubts."

          Man United product Sam Johnstone is the current No.1 at The Hawthorns.

          18.54 BST: Sky Sports are reporting that Tottenham have agreed to sell backup midfielder Victor Wanyama to Belgian outfit Club Brugge for £12 million.

          The 28-year-old Kenyan has fallen down the pecking order at Spurs and has expressed he is not happy with his current role at the club. Wanyama would join a Brugge club who are qualified for the Champions League group stages and recently acquired goalkeeper Simon Mignolet for Liverpool.

          18.02 BST: Bayern Munich striker Robert Lewandowski has signed a contract extension to stay with the seven-time defending Bundesliga champions through 2023.

          The Polish hitman has flirted with leaving Germany in recent summers but has changed his course, admitting the arrival of Philippe Coutinho made his decision easier.

          Lewa has bagged 197 goals in 246 games in all competitions for Bayern since joining from Borussia Dortmund in 2014.

          16.50 BST: Real Madrid are nearing closer to a deal that would send Keylor Navas to Paris Saint-Germain in exchange for €13m, with PSG goalkeeper Alphonse Areola going the other way on a one-year loan at the Bernabeu, both clubs have confirmed to ESPN FC.

          The La Liga giants were initially asking for €20m for the Costa Rica international late on Wednesday, but the exchange of Navas and Areola brings the figure down.

          Sources said that Real Madrid are accepting of the second option and plan to use Areola as a substitute for their starter Thibaut Courtois.

          Navas will sign a three-year deal with an option for a fourth if he meets stated objectives, sources have said. The deal means a salary boost for Navas and a deal stretched over more years than his current one with the Spanish giants, which was through 2021.

          Navas was reportedly unhappy at Madrid as Courtois' backup and sought more playing time, despite assurances from manager Zinedine Zidane.

          The transfer is expected to be announced on Thursday.

          16.11 BST: Bologna have signed Chile international Gary Medel on a permanent deal from Besiktas... and announced it in the most bizarre way!

          14.25 BST: AND IT'S DONE! Striker Jurgen Locadia has signed for Hoffenheim from Brighton on a season-long loan move.

          13.50 BST: There is still no agreement between PSG and Barcelona for Neymar, with the Spanish giants still trying to get a player plus cash deal over the line, sources have told ESPN FC.

          Barcelona cannot pay the €170m demanded by PSG upfront and instead want to include a player instead, reducing the amount to be paid upfront.

          Barcelona will struggle to include players in the deal with winger Ousmane Dembele not wanting to leave the club. Midfielder Ivan Rakitic would be open to a move to PSG but boss Thomas Tuchel is not convinced over the signing given the player's age.

          The two clubs will continue talks at the Champions League draw in Monaco later on Thursday in a bid to find an agreement over the sale of the Brazil international.

          13.37 BST: Arsenal midfielder Mohamed Elneny is set to join Turkish side Besiktas on a season-long loan move, according to Football London.

          The Egypt international was told that he can leave the club by boss Unai Emery earlier this summer and is not needed following the arrival of midfielder Dani Ceballos on loan from Real Madrid

          12.30 BST: Bayer Leverkusen have been linked with Tottenham defender Jan Vertonghen. The 32-year-old centre back has dropped down the pecking order in North London and now is a candidate at the German Champions League side, German outlet Kicker reports.

          The news outlet said that Vertonghen could leave the 2019 Champions League finalists one year before his contract expires and reinforce Leverkusen's back four.

          Bayern head coach Peter Bosz is currently looking for a left-footed defender, but the club look a long way from securing the Belgium international with a transfer fee as well as a possible cut in salary still to be negotiated, Kicker said.

          11.46 BST: Brighton striker Jurgen Locadia, 25, will join Hoffenheim on loan once he has completed his medical, German outlet Kicker has reported.

          Hungary international Adam Szalai, the club's previous number 9, returned to his first German club FSV Mainz 05 on Wednesday.

          Locadia is set to leave Brighton following the arrival of striker Neal Maupay from Brentford.

          Locadia scored just two goals in 26 Premier League games for the Seagulls last season.

          11.00 BST: Arsenal spent big in the final days of the English summer transfer window, but will that be the tipping point in boss Unai Emery's hopes of beating North London rivals Tottenham on Sunday?

          10.16 BST: Manchester United defender Chris Smalling is being pursued by Serie A side Roma in the final days of the transfer window, sources have told ESPN FC.

          Smalling, who signed a new long-term deal with the club last season, has been linked with a move away from United this summer following the arrival of Harry Maguire from Leicester for £80m. Smalling is yet to make an appearance for the club so far this season, having played 24 league games last season.

          Smalling, 29, joined United from Fulham in 2010 and has won two Premier League titles, the FA Cup, League Cup and Europa League.

          He was also named the club's Players' Player of the Year for 2015-16.

          09.33 BST: DONE DEAL! Inter Milan have completed the signing of left back Cristiano Biraghi on a season-long loan move from Fiorentina.

          09.00 BST: PSG have rejected Barcelona's offer of £118m plus three players for Brazil star Neymar on Wednesday night, according to French outlet RMC Sport.

          The French side reportedly felt the offer did not meet their their valuation of Neymar and had concerns whether they would be able to agree terms with all three players included in the deal before the European transfer window closes on Sept. 2.

          RMC Sport reported that PSG are not interested in player-swap deals and are demanding that Barcelona pay their valuation of Neymar up front or the deal will not happen.

          Sources told ESPN FC that the two clubs have set the price for Neymar at €170m, but details about the payments were holding up a deal.

          Juventus to offer players in exchange for Icardi

          Reports at Calciomercato claim Juventus are now the only option on the table for Inter Milan in their quest to sell Argentine striker Mauro Icardi, despite reports that the former Sampdoria man wants to remain at the San Siro.

          Plenty of obstacles remain in Juve's way should they be interested in pursuing a move for the 26-year-old -- most notably the plethora of attacking options already at the club, thus leaving little room for a new striker.

          The amount of forwards on the books in Turin could also work to their advantage, however, with the likes of Gonzalo Higuain and Mario Mandzukic believed to be options for Juventus if they were to go down the route of offering players in exchange for Icardi -- something which new Inter boss Antonio Conte is rumoured to be open to.

          Euro sides baulk at Demiral price tag

          Despite joining Juventus only at the start of July, Merih Demiral has already been linked with moves to a string of top European clubs, including AC Milan, Roma and Atletico Madrid -- with the latter reportedly making a €25 million offer for the Turkey international.

          But according to Calciomercato, the Bianconeri are set to slap a €40m price tag on the highly rated 21-year-old, a fee that is sure to spell an end to talk of a move.

          The centre-half's future has been in question since the arrival of Matthijs de Ligt from Ajax, just a fortnight after Demiral landed in Turin, creating a glut of options for Maurizio Sarri at the heart of his defence.

          There is also pressure to balance the books at the club in order to continue paying the hefty wages of Cristiano Ronaldo.

          Tap-ins

          - Calciomercato claims Monaco are plotting a move for Atalanta defender Roger Ibanez. The 20-year-old joined the Serie A side from Brazilian club Fluminense only at the start of the year, but Monaco boss Leonardo Jardim is hoping to lure the centre half to the city-state before next week's transfer deadline.

          - The Scottish Herald believes Celtic boss Neil Lennon will step up his attempts to strengthen his squad ahead of this weekend's Old Firm Derby. The league champions have been linked with moves for Kilmarnock full-back Greg Taylor, Rosenborg's Birger Meling and Leicester City winger Fousseni Diabate.

          - More from Calciomercato, which claims Roma midfielder Maxime Gonalons has rejected a move to newly-promoted La Liga side Granada. The 30-year-old failed to make the squad for his side's Serie A opener against Genoa last weekend and is expected to leave the Stadio Olimpico before the transfer window closes next week.
