Oscar-winning 'Parasite' director Bong Joon-Ho would invite Premier League star to 'last meal' with Hitchcock, Scorsese

Bong Joon-Ho, now the world's hottest movie director thanks to the huge success of "Parasite" at the Oscars, said recently that he would have one Premier League star at the table for his dream dinner party.

Following his triumph at the Academy Awards on Sunday, when he won four Oscars including best picture and best director awards, Bong's name is on everyone's lips. And the South Korean auteur's newfound global fame has led to a curious discovery.

Bong hosted a Reddit AMA last November and in it he was asked to name the five people, dead or alive, he would like to invite to his "last supper."

Perhaps unsurprisingly, the 50-year-old sat fellow Oscar-winning movie directors Alfred Hitchcock and Martin Scorsese around his fantasy table. He also opted for Jimmy Page, legendary guitarist with Led Zeppelin -- Bong's favourite band as a kid -- and Olympic gold-winning figure skater Yuna Kim.

Bong also extended a shock invite to one of the Premier League's most prominent stars: Manchester City's Kevin De Bruyne.

We can only imagine how dinner conversation might go between the six of them around the dinner table.

And who knows what City's team of nutritionists and dietitians would make of their star playmaker tucking into "lots of paella," as Bong would like on the menu.

At least with De Bruyne involved, you could always rely on the service being good.
