FOXBOROUGH, Mass. -- For the first time since he was diagnosed with a concussion a week ago, New England Patriots tight end Rob Gronkowski was present in the locker room during the media-access period Sunday, and it appeared he had physically exerted himself in practice.

Gronkowski is prohibited from conducting interviews with reporters while in the concussion protocol, and when a reporter approached him Sunday and asked if he got good work in, Gronkowski smiled.

"Are you trying to get information out of me?" he said with a laugh.

Gronkowski showed his sense of humor in that moment, but more importantly, it suggested there haven't been any setbacks with his participation in practice over the past two days. Gronkowski, as usual, was upbeat as he relayed that everything has been on a positive course. He should be traveling with the team to Super Bowl LII on Monday morning.

Similar to Gronkowski, rookie defensive end Deatrich Wise Jr. was in the locker room during the media-access period as he recovers from a concussion in last Sunday's AFC Championship Game. Wise is also making progress after returning to practice Saturday.

In addition, starting defensive tackle Malcom Brown (foot) said he has no doubts that he will be ready for Super Bowl LII after returning to practice Sunday.
