It appears the Philadelphia Phillies are looking to add some firepower to their outfield.

Rumor Central

CSN Philly reports the team will promote outfield prospect Nick Williams, per sources. The 23-year-old will join the team in time for a three-game series with the New York Mets, starting Friday. He was called up to replace Howie Kendrick, who is headed back to the 10-day DL with a left hamstring injury.

Williams had a slash line of .280/.328/.511 along with 15 home runs and 44 RBIs in 78 games at Triple-A Lehigh Valley. He was 7-for-18 (.389) over his past five games and had reached base successfully in his past 14.

Although he was ranked 12th on Keith Law's Phillies preseason prospect list, Williams is the team's highest-rated prospect to reach the majors this year.

Williams, who was acquired from the Texas Rangers in the 2015 Cole Hamels trade, is the last minor leaguer in the trade to be promoted to the major leagues. He was a second-round pick in 2012 from Galveston, Texas.
