Everton's Sandro Ramirez close to Real Sociedad loan switch

Everton forward Sandro Ramirez is poised to join Real Sociedad on loan before the transfer window in Spain closes on Friday, the La Liga club's president has said.

Sandro, 23, arrived at Goodison Park last summer after scoring 16 goals in 31 appearances for Malaga in the previous season.

However, the former Barcelona academy graduate failed to replicate that form in the Premier League and spent the second half of last season on loan at Sevilla.

Sandro did not feature in Everton's first three Premier League games of this campaign and Sociedad president Jokin Aperribay confirmed that a loan move could soon be done.

"It is true that we are quite close [to signing Sandro], there is agreement with him and with Everton, but today they play a cup game [against Rotherham in the Carabao Cup] and, if all goes well, he could come tomorrow," he told reporters.

"If it is done, it will be done tomorrow and he would come on loan without a purchase option."

Sandro would fill the gap left by Imanol Agirretxe after the 31-year-old announced his retirement earlier on Wednesday following a series of injury problems.
