AS Monaco have agreed a fee for Russian star Aleksandr Golovin, who is expected to sign for the Ligue 1 club on a five-year deal, sources have told ESPN.
Golovin has yet to undergo his medical, but sources say that Monaco have agreed with CSKA Moscow on a fee of approximately €30 million plus bonuses for the versatile midfielder.
Monaco vice president Vadim Vasilyev confirmed his interest in the midfielder July 16, saying the club had made "more than a generous offer" for his services, and sources indicate that his club have now won the race to sign him despite interest from Chelsea.
Golovin, 22, will bolster Monaco's midfield options after a summer that saw them sell Joao Moutinho and Thomas Lemar to Wolverhampton Wanderers and Atletico Madrid, respectively.
Golovin impressed at the World Cup for Russia this summer, scoring once and contributing two assists as they reached the quarterfinals.
