Liverpool haven't inquired about Nabil Fekir transfer - Lyon president

Lyon president Jean-Michel Aulas has told SFR Sport that Liverpool have not made contact regarding a transfer for Nabil Fekir.

The midfielder has been routinely linked with a summer move to Anfield by French media, but sources told ESPN FC earlier this month that Liverpool had not made an approach for the 24-year-old.

Fekir has remained non-committal about his future, but Aulas insisted the attacking midfielder has made no decision and warned it would cost a sizeable transfer fee for the club captain to move this summer.

"There has been no contact at all with Liverpool, nor with any other club," Aulas said. "I haven't talked about his future with him at all.

"Nabil also really wants to stay after qualifying [for the Champions League]. We're going to talk it through calmly."

Fekir earned a place in France's World Cup squad after he scored 23 goals in 40 appearances this season.

"He has magnificently earned the right to go to Russia with the French national team," Aulas said. "That gives him a superior status.

"For the moment, nothing has been decided. You'll have to be very rich to recruit Nabil Fekir this year."
