Juventus will play 'best players' vs. AC Milan despite Real Madrid quarterfinal

Juventus coach Massimiliano Allegri has vowed to field his strongest team against AC Milan on Saturday and not rest anybody ahead of Tuesday's Champions League quarterfinal with Real Madrid.

The Bianconeri have two crucial fixtures in the space of four days, but Allegri says he cannot afford to focus more on one than the other after a 0-0 draw at SPAL cut their Serie A lead to just two points.

"We're still a bit annoyed about the two points dropped in Ferrara," Allegri told a news conference. "We threw away our bonus. Milan have won their last five and it's going to be an even game, so we'll have to think of Real from Monday.

"That's a game against the best team in the world and we've got to have the ambition to beat them and be involved in a major global event, but our objective is to win the league.

"The present is now and tomorrow our best players will play. Napoli only have one thing left to play for.

"They're out of everything else and I think this year is too important for them because they know next year will be harder. They've got to put everything into winning it this year."

Saturday's game sees Leonardo Bonucci return to Turin for the first time since his €42 million summer transfer to AC Milan.

A disagreement with Allegri last season may have contributed to his decision to leave the Bianconeri, but the Juve coach says that is water under the bridge and he will be the first to welcome Bonucci back to the Allianz Stadium.

"Leo gave Juventus a lot," Allegri said. "He made a choice this summer and wanted a change of scenery, but he still has a place in the hearts of Juventus fans.

"He's got a bond with [Gianluigi] Buffon, [Andrea] Barzagli and [Giorgio] Chiellini -- a historic defence -- but he's made his choice and we face him as opponents tomorrow.

"When Leo left, people were saying our defence had been weakened. He gave a lot in a defence which was tried and tested, but since then [Medhi] Benatia and [Daniele] Rugani have both grown to the role. "There's no ill feeling. [Dropping him for the game at] Porto was a decision taken for his good and for the good of the team.

"It was the right decision. These things happen in football. There's no ill feeling on the part of either of us. I've got a great relationship with Leo. I didn't expect him to leave."

Allegri also does not expect Paulo Dybala to leave as he laughed off speculation that he had agreed to join Atletico Madrid next season after being seen eating with their coach Diego Simeone in Madrid.

"I hope that all Simeone paid for was the lunch," Allegri added. "At the moment, he's got to be motivated to have a great end to the season.

"That goes both for Juve and for his hopes of playing at the World Cup."
