Djibril Sidibe injury doubt for France at World Cup, out for Monaco

Monaco full-back Djibril Sidibe will not play again this season due to a knee injury which could yet put his World Cup in doubt.

The France international, 25, injured the meniscus in his right knee during Sunday's thumping defeat to Paris Saint Germain and will be out for between four and seven weeks.

Monaco's Ligue 1 campaign finishes against Troyes on May 19 while Les Bleus play their World Cup Group C opener against Australia on June 16.

"In the worst case, it is seven weeks. In the best case, four weeks," head coach Leonardo Jardim told asmonaco.Monaco's website.

"We will have to see what the specialists say. The medical staff will take the best decision, I have full confidence in them.

"Will he play again with us this season? I think not."

Sidibe appeared in all 10 of France's World Cup qualifiers and has established himself as Didier Deschamps' first-choice right-back, with Christophe Jallet and the inexperienced Benjamin Pavard providing alternative options.
