The LA Galaxy were losing 3-1 to crosstown rivals LAFC when Zlatan Ibrahimovic came on the pitch in the 71st minute for his MLS debut.
After playing a part in the buildup to getting one goal back, the Swedish lion score the next two himself in dramatic fashion to rally his new club to a 4-3 win.
The stadium erupted, and so did Twitter as "Zlatan" became a top trending topic worldwide. Here's a look at the best reaction tweets as Ibrahimovic introduced himself to Los Angeles.
The Spanish-language call on Zlatan's equalizer from Fox Deportes:

Other players are shook:
I was gonna take a nap but I just had to change my underwear.

Imagine what #Zlatan could of done if he had a week to train with the team 🧐
— Lee Nguyen (@LeeNguyen24) March 31, 2018
Say what you want but this is the probably the single greatest debut of any outrageously hyped footballer, probably in the world. @ me. ZLATAN is ridiculous.
— Heath Pearce (@heathpearce) March 31, 2018
A couple NBA players were also impressed:
ZLATAN taking over @MLS
— Goran Dragić (@Goran_Dragic) March 31, 2018
Well that didn't take long for Zlatan to take over LA and the @MLS
— Nikola Vucevic (@NikolaVucevic) March 31, 2018
And of course media members were left shaking their heads:
Oh my. #zLAtan
— Alexi Lalas (@AlexiLalas) March 31, 2018
ZLATAN IS A GOD. It's official.
— Jimmy Conrad (@JimmyConrad) March 31, 2018
The Rams now will attempt to trade for Zlatan.
— Rich Hammond (@Rich_Hammond) March 31, 2018
Zlatan talks the talk, but damn if he doesn't walk the walk.
— Will Cain (@willcain) March 31, 2018
Hahaha! Zlatan's just done it again?! Brilliant
— Sid Lowe (@sidlowe) March 31, 2018
Ignore the hype, and all the Lion talk but what Zlatan just did as a 36 year old rebounding from a savage injury to stroll onto the field and score two emphatic signature goals is inarguably a remarkable moment of human drama 👏

Zlatan the Genius does it again.... 'I can't help but laugh at how perfect I am.' https://t.co/fZy8D4b2Di
— Piers Morgan (@piersmorgan) March 31, 2018
But was his winner offside?
I think Zlatan was offside. I'm almost positive Garber just popped into Geiger's earpiece and said "don't do this Mark. This isn't your hill to die on. No VAR."
— Pablo Maurer (@MLSist) March 31, 2018
VAR Referee: "I think you should take another look at that second #zLAtan goal. He may have been offside."

The happiest man of all might be Zlatan's agent:
@MLS just became MLZ with triple value. Always proud of @Ibra_official

Can Ibrahimovic keep it up over the next two seasons? Only time will tell, but his debut was unforgettable.
