Liverpool's Robertson rewards young foodbank donor with Firmino shirt

Liverpool defender Andrew Robertson has moved to personally thank a young Reds fan after stumbling across his impressive act of generosity on Twitter.

Alfie Radford, 7, donated his pocket money to a foodbank in the Anfield area, a gesture which caught the eye of the Scottish player.

As a token of thanks, Robertson sent a signed Liverpool shirt to Alfie -- not his own, but one signed by Roberto Firmino as, in his own words, "no-one wants the left-back's shirt."

"I remember being your age just how important pocket money is and how there's hundreds of things you could have bought for yourself," Robertson wrote.

"For you to give that up for people who are having a tough time and need some help to get by is absolutely amazing.

"I'll make sure all the lads hear about what you've done. You've done LFC proud -- your family will be made up with you, I'm sure."

Absolutely exemplary stuff, from both parties.
