TOP STORY: Gunners close in on €100m Mudryk deal

Arsenal and Shakhtar Donetsk are getting closer to reaching an agreement over a deal for Mykhailo Mudryk, reports Foot Mercato.

The 22-year-old winger has been a key target for Mikel Arteta's side this January, and the report indicates that positive progress has been made over a move worth in the region of €100 million.

Mudryk has also been linked with Chelsea, but after ESPN sources revealed on Monday that Graham Potter's side are nearing a loan move for Atletico Madrid star Joao Felix, the Gunners appear to have stepped up their approach for the Ukraine international.

Talks are set to continue throughout the week as the two clubs finalise an agreement over the initial fee, as well as potential bonuses that will be included as part of the deal, with the north London club optimistic that it can get the move over the line.

The 24-year-old France international has been linked with the likes of Bayern Munich and Manchester United.

17.00 GMT: Fabrizio Romano writes that Chelsea's move for Atletico Madrid forward Joao Felix will not have any impact on them bringing in RB Leipzig attacker Christopher Nkunku in the summer. En-Nesyri, 25, has been linked with Villa but the Morocco international is happy to stay in Spain.

13.21 GMT: Paris Saint-Germain have been linked with a move for Morocco's World Cup hero Azzedine Ounahi.

However, Fabrizio Romano says the Angers midfielder is not part of their plans as, under sporting director Luis Campos, the club are looking to trust young talent in the academy.

In midfield, PSG rate 16-year-old Warren Zaire-Emery highly and won't sign Ounahi as a result.

12.30 GMT: Should Man United sign Wout Weghorst on loan?

11.50 GMT: Seven of Real Madrid's 23 first-team players -- Karim Benzema, Luka Modric, Toni Kroos, Marco Asensio, Dani Ceballos, Nacho Fernandez and Mariano Diaz -- are available on a free transfer in the summer.

Real Madrid have a general policy to only offer short-term deals to those over 30 years old, but are willing to offer the 26-year-old Asensio a longer extension, according to The Athletic.

Despite his limited number of opportunities this season, the Spain international forward is seen as an important squad player for coach Carlo Ancelotti, but it remains to be seen if he wants to stay.

10.47 GMT: ICYMI - Al Nassr have turned their attention to Barcelona midfielder Sergio Busquets after completing the signing of Cristiano Ronaldo, a source has told ESPN.

Busquets, 34, is out of contract at the end of the season and the source said Al Nassr are prepared to offer an annual salary of around €13m net to take him to Saudi Arabia.

Major League Soccer side Inter Miami are also keen on signing the former Spain international, who said recently that he was attracted by the idea of playing in the United States.

Talks between Busquets' camp and Inter Miami have been ongoing for months, but there is still no firm agreement in place for him to move to MLS.

In the meantime, Al Nassr have made a move to sign the Barca captain as they continue to target some of the biggest names in football after announcing the arrival of Ronaldo last week.

Chelsea midfielder N'Golo Kante, also out of contract in June, is another player who has been linked with the Saudi side.

10.08 GMT: Manchester United are working on a deal to sign Wout Weghorst on loan from Burnley but his current club Besiktas want a payment to terminate his temporary move early, sources have told ESPN.

Weghorst is on loan at Besiktas from Burnley, and the Turkish side are keen to keep the striker until the end of the season.

Sources have told ESPN that United want to negotiate their own loan deal but first Besiktas would have to agree to send Weghorst back to Turf Moor.

United have money available for a small loan fee following Cristiano Ronaldo's departure during the World Cup, but there are significant budget limitations after spending more than expected on transfers last summer.

Sources added United are in talks with Burnley about a deal which would see Besiktas receive a payment to allow Weghorst to leave.

09.50 GMT: Borussia Dortmund wonderkid Youssoufa Moukoko is in talks with Newcastle over a free transfer in the summer, says the Evening Standard.

Moukoko, 18, has scored six goals in 22 appearances for Dortmund this season and was part of the Germany squad at the 2022 World Cup.

Saudi-backed Newcastle have reportedly made their move to land Moukoko with a reported £150,000-a-week contract offer when he becomes a free agent at the end of the season. Chelsea have also been linked with the striker but could miss out if they don't act quickly.

09.13 GMT: Atalanta sporting director Tony D'Amico has hinted that reported Liverpool target Teun Koopmeiners will not leave the club during the January transfer window.

The Netherlands international has seen his transfer value more than double since joining Atalanta in the summer of 2021 for €12m from AZ Alkmaar. "There is nothing concrete with Liverpool," D'Amico said to Sky Italy. "We like their interest, but he is one of our players."

Koopmeiners, 24, has scored five goals and set up two more in 17 league appearances for the Bergamaschi this season. Atalanta would reportedly only be open to let the defensive midfielder leave in this window if an offer in the region of €40m was to arrive.

08.30 GMT: Atletico Madrid want Joao Felix to extend his contract until June 2027 as a condition to allow him to join Chelsea on loan, Marca reports.

Felix, 23, is unhappy at Atletico and wants to leave in this transfer window, with sources telling ESPN that Chelsea are in talks over a six-month loan with no purchase option included in the deal. The Blues would pay Atletico €11m for the Portugal forward's loan deal plus his wages.

Felix, who is under contract with Atletico until June 2026 and has a €350m release clause, reportedly wants to join Chelsea ahead of Arsenal and Manchester United.

But Atletico want him to extend his contract for a further year to reduce the annual depreciation and balance their books. Atletico turned down a €130 offer from Manchester United in the summer, with the club insisting back then that the player was "non-transferable."
