How to watch the return of Costa Rica's top-flight soccer league on ESPN Deportes

Costa Rica's Liga FPD will be the first top-flight soccer league in the Americas to resume play since the COVID-19 outbreak put a halt to most sports worldwide, and ESPN Deportes will broadcast its return for U.S. audiences.

ESPN's Spanish-language linear network will provide coverage of league leader Deportivo Saprissa's four remaining home matches, beginning with Wednesday's 10 p.m. ET matchup behind closed doors against Herediano. The play-by-play team of Fernando Palomo and Kenneth Garay will join analysts Barak Fever and Andres Agulla in broadcasting from their respective home studios.

Saprissa's other home matches to be televised are vs. Limon FC (10 p.m., May 27), A.D.R. Jicaral (10 p.m., June 3) and Municipal Grecia (8 p.m., June 7). The games will also be available to stream on the ESPN App.

Liga FPD, which suspended activity March 17 with seven of 22 regular-season rounds pending, plans to complete its season between May 19 and June 10. Saprissa sits four points clear of rival Alajuelense and is 115-79-98 in its "Clásico" with Herediano.
