Tim Cahill set for talks over return to Millwall - sources

Australia international Tim Cahill will hold talks with Millwall over a return to English football, sources have confirmed to ESPN FC.

Cahill, who is a free agent after leaving Melbourne City last month, is flying into the UK for talks with Millwall and some other interested Championship clubs.

However, sources said Cahill's preferred choice is to rejoin Millwall, having spent seven successful years with the club between 1997-2004.

Cahill, who has netted 50 goals in 104 international appearances for Australia, can sign outside the transfer window because he is a free agent, but sources said the 38-year-old wants his future sorted quickly so that he can prepare for his fourth World Cup appearance this summer.

Cahill was a big fan's favourite at Millwall, helping the club win promotion from League One and also reach the FA Cup final in 2004 which proved to be his last game for the club before joining Everton.

He also played with current Millwall manager Neil Harris.
