Steven Gerrard set to reject offer to manage Milton Keynes Dons - sources

Steven Gerrard is ready turn down the chance to move into management at Milton Keynes Dons, sources close to the player have told ESPN FC.

Gerrard has yet to make a decision on his next move after confirming he is leaving LA Galaxy when his contract expires in December.

ESPN FC sources revealed this week that League One outfit MK Dons, who are searching for a new manager after the departure of Karl Robinson last month, offered Gerrard the chance to take his first managerial role at Stadium:mk. He reportedly has until Monday to make a decision.

MK Dons have also sounded Gerrard's former England teammate Frank Lampard, but the ex-Chelsea star has snubbed their overtures as he plans to continue playing for another year after leaving New York City FC.

The club are in the League One relegation zone, one point adrift of safety, after having been relegated from the Championship last season.

The 36-year-old is keeping all his options open, but sources said that Gerrard is in no rush to move into management and is considering offers to extend his playing career.
