Man United paid more than £10 million in agents' fees over winter

Manchester United have spent more money on agent and intermediaries' fees between October and February this season than any other club in the Premier League, paying out over £10 million.

Figures published by the Football Association show United paid £3.35m more than Liverpool -- the club with the second highest outlay in the division.

That is despite United not having signed any players during the January transfer window, although they were linked with high-profile moves.

The FA figures include every transfer dealing and new contract negotiations by Premier League, Football League and National League clubs.

Manchester City are next behind the Reds at £5.88m, followed by Arsenal (£3.14m), West Ham (£2.69m), Tottenham (£2.56m) and Chelsea (£2.21m).

The lowest-spending Premier League club were Everton at £471,400, while the overall total given for the division was £46.58m.

QPR were the biggest-spending Sky Bet Championship outfit. Their total is £1m, and they are the only club outside the Premier League to have a seven-figure sum by their name.

The only Championship sides other than QPR to have spent more than Everton were Hull (£740,789), Cardiff (£542,546) and Nottingham Forest (£485,954).

In League One, only Wigan (£164,268) and Sheffield United (£116,488) had six-figure totals, while League Two's highest spenders were Oxford (£32,703) and six clubs spent nothing.

New FIFA transparency regulations, regarding the dealings of agents and intermediaries, mean that these amounts are now disclosed by national associations. Earlier this month, Schalke topped the Bundesliga's list of agents' fees.

Information from Press Association was used in this report.
