Perth Glory attacker Chris Ikonomidis has declared himself fit to take on Western Sydney this Sunday after being cleared of a knee injury. Ikonomidis hurt his left knee after copping a strong tackle from Michael Jakobsen in last week's 3-0 A-League win over Adelaide. The incident also saw Ikonomidis' left ankle twist at an awkward angle, leaving him unable to sprint for the last few minutes of the match. But the star Socceroo says he has pulled up well, and insisted he is available to take on the Wanderers at Bankwest Stadium on Sunday. "Thankfully it was nothing serious, it's a relief," Ikonomidis said. "I saw the video. My ankle was fine. It was my knee that took an awkward twist. "But it was all fine. It was one of those ones that hurt for a few minutes, but after that your joints and ligaments just get on with it. "I'll be fine to train and play games." Ikonomidis' next challenge is to win back his starting berth, and he gave his chances a big boost with a classy goal against Adelaide. The 24-year-old was restricted to just three minutes of action in the previous two games, but he added plenty of spark during his 32-minute cameo against Adelaide. Despite that strong performance, Ikonomidis faces a battle to jump ahead of Joel Chianese into the starting XI. Chianese has scored three goals from his past three games, and appears unlikely to be bumped out of his starting position this weekend. Ikonomidis has taken the demotion in his stride, putting all his focus into training to ensure he'll be ready for a call-up when it comes. "It's been fine. I've been enjoying training. I've been trying to give everything I can for the team when I am given the chance to play," Ikonomidis said. "Me and Joel have been good mates since I arrived here. "He's a good player. We'll continue to be great mates on and off the pitch." Glory have gone from last to third on the back of their five-match winning run. Perth have never won six A-League games in a row, meaning the current group have the chance to create history this Sunday. Midfielder Juande, who missed the win against Adelaide with a groin injury, is no certainty to return against the Wanderers.
