Lautaro Martinez could be loaned to Real Madrid - Victor Blanco

Argentina under-20 striker Lautaro Martinez could join Real Madrid on loan this summer, according to Racing de Avellaneda club president Victor Blanco.

Martinez, 18, is currently playing for his national youth team in a summer tournament in L'Alcudia in Spain, where his performances have reportedly attracted the attention of Los Blancos and La Liga rivals Atletico Madrid and Valencia.

Speaking on Radio Belgrano, in quotes reported by Ole, the Argentine club's chief said informal talks had taken place with Madrid about a transfer for the teenager, who has been valued at $8 million.

"We had some informal chats with the people from Real Madrid," Blanco said. "We would not rule out loaning him out, but with an option to buy for a high price."

Martinez would be likely to be placed at Real Madrid's Castilla youth team, where he could play alongside Sergio Diaz, a young Paraguay forward who joined the Bernabeu club for €5 million earlier this summer and has featured for Zinedine Zidane's senior team during Saturday's 3-2 International Champions Cup win over Chelsea in Ann Arbor, Michigan.
