Watford are tracking highly rated Belgium international Jordan Lukaku, a source close to the player's club, KV Oostende, has told ESPN FC.
Lukaku, the brother of Everton's Romelu, has caught the eye for club and country in the past 12 months after impressing for Oostende in Belgium's top flight.
The 21-year-old left-back has has featured regularly for Oostende this term and his performances have not gone unnoticed among clubs across bigger leagues in Europe.
The likes of Chelsea, Arsenal, Tottenham and AC Milan have all been credited with an interest in Lukaku, but now Watford have joined the chase for the 21-year-old.
Watford are in the market for a new left-back this summer with Nathan Ake due to return to parent club Chelsea at the end of the season following a successful loan spell at Vicarage Road.
Lukaku is in contention for a spot in Belgium's Euro 2016 squad after impressing since making his debut against Andorra last October and in his two caps so far he has created two goals including assisting his brother, Romelu, for his goal in the defeat to Portugal at the end of March.
Oostende are bracing themselves for interest in Lukaku this summer and, with the player entering the final year of his contract, they would find it hard to resist a sizeable offer for his services.
Watford are set to continue to monitor his situation and hope the opportunity of regular first-team football could give them the edge over their bigger rivals.
